New York City Airports

There are 3 majors airports in or near New York city:

You can reach NYC from each of these airports by public transportation, taxi cab, or private car services.

Click on the links above to get to each airport's website. They each provide extensive information about getting to Manhattan.

Below is a short list of some of the cheaper ways to get Manhattan from each airport.

Traveling from Kennedy Airport to Manhattan

AirTrain & Subway

Take the AirTrain to Howard Beach and transfer to the A train into Manhattan. Alternatively, you can take the AirTrain to Sutphin Blvd and transfer to the E, J, or Z lines.

Visit the MTA's AirTrain JFK website for more information.

Taxi

Taxis from JFK are a flat rate of $45.00 plus tolls and tip.

Traveling from LaGaurdia Airport to Manhattan

Bus

The M60 Bus goes from LaGaurdia to uptown Manhattan. If you are going to downtown Manhattan, get off the M60 at 125th street for a connecting to the 4, 5, and 6 subway trains.

Taxi

Taxis from LaGuardia start around $25.00 plus toll and tip. Prices are metered, so they will be higher during peak times such as rush hour.

If you are still confused, this website provides more clarification. Scroll down to the bottom of this link to see "To LaGuardia Airport via the M60 bus".

Traveling from Newark Airport to Manhattan

AirTrain & NJ Transit Train

From Newark you will need to take the AirTrain to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station. From there, you will get on either the Amtrak or NJ Transit.

For more infomation, visit the AirTrain Newark website.

Taxi

Taxis are also available; however, costs may be higher from Newark since it is farther away from Manhattan than LaGaurdia or JFK.
