Any machine shop can re thread a yoyo, it should pose no problem, for any decent machinist.

It would be hard I think to convince a machine shop to rethread a yoyo. They have more profitable ways to spend their time. A modder would be best.

Couldn't hurt to ask though, could it Humphrey ? Sending the yoyo both ways, 25.00, say 25.00 to fix the axle, 50.00, for a 60.00 dollar yoyo, not too mention the six weeks turnaround time ? Might as well throw the yoyo in the garbage, Id sooner ask someone local who knows how to run a tap and die if they have a spare half hour one day to help(actually Id just do it myself, I can tap and die fine, but that's me), than I would send the yoyo half way across the country to some dude Ive never met. It just seems it MIGHT be a bit easier to find someone local, its pretty easy to re thread holes.

I would check around you. Almost any auto shop, old guy that is always tinkering on something or even a place that does powder coating should have the tools to do it. I have all the taps you'd need in the garage and at work. Unfortunatly, we probably live way too far from one another. It shouldn't take half an hour tho, maybe 5 minutes. I've been working as a powder coater/sandblaster when my normal job is slow and i'm always having to retap stuff, motorcycle frames, car parts and other random objects people bring in. It shouldn't cost much if anything. I didn't have any easy outs after i broke a bolt in something the other day, took it down the road to the body shop and they did it for nothing. Retapping takes about as much time and effort as using an easy out. (virtually none) go to a place n ask or call. Never know till ya ask.
