Found a toy store today in my little city that carries some Yomegas and YYF. They even had 1 protostar. I broke down and got a YM Hotshot for the hell of it. The store even gave me a free YYF belt clip yoyo holder.
Just did a couple of sleepers so far but even with the stock string, that thing is dead stable. No vibration either. I was surprised. I was also surprised by the weight of it.
Still cant wait to get the Shinwoos in. All these different types should last a bit for me.
The Owner even told me of a small yoyo club 1 city over with the possibility of one starting here. That would be sweet for me to get around some people who know how to throw.
I gave them the Yoyo Nation webaddress because they have people wanting to learn more and find out about contest. So a little free promotion from 3 stores for here.

You ordered a shinwoo? Which one?
@nick also, while battosai are not rare, they hold their value well for something under 100$. Most YYF Under 100$ don't hold value well, plastics don't hold their value well. And Landon balk don't hold their value well. YYJ doesn't hold value well. This may just be me, but There aren't many under 100$ yoyo that hold value well

2 Phantoms. 1 for me and 1 for the wife. Cheap knock arounds for now, even though we practice in the grass.
I just got done cleaning the bearings on the Hotshot and my god the difference in sleep times. Still responsive to a good pop on the string. I still like the Velocity the best though with its weight. I guess I am not used to the hotshot yet. I am not going to mess with the Velocities bearings right now.

The hot shot is nice. Just make sure you don't use the cotton string that comes with it it sucks. Also got the phantom, I can't say much since I have never played one, but hope you like it

Yea, I got a 10 pack of polys in orange for my green velocity.. so I use those. Got 100 greens coming with the Phantoms and VM4 (?) thin lube.
I read about the problems with wobble in the Phantom and how to sort of fix it quick so we will see. Should be in this week I think.
Edit: Update: Figured out my pull problem with stop and go. I was bringing my nth finger in from the front to fold the string instead of from behind. Now I got the pulls doing what it is supposed to do.

V4M is easily the best lubricant on the market designed for yoyo bearings. That one bottle will last you YEARS! Good choice!

Shinwoos are in. I think I need to shim the spacers a little. On my wife's, the string wants to go into the small space on the side. Mine does fine. Got the Phantoms bearings cleaned and lubed. Weights lined up to keep things in balance. Response is way down. They throw pretty sweet so far. Did not try any trick cause I am also busy with a new computer. Lighting singed something on this current one. Software errors now with things I use to make money. But, lubed the rest of the yoyos up and they love that V4M. Will try to be back in a few days with a progress update or something.

New computer up and running so I had some practice time today. I have had the Phantoms set to be pretty unresponsive and just forcing myself to learn binds. Got those going pretty well. Trapeze is getting better but I still cant get it to flop over yet. Stop and goes I have to use the Hotshot or Velocity for response but I have that down. Started braintwisters I think (If I am naming it right)...easy enough. Instead of drop in the bucket I have switched it to Boingy Boingy. I can get it into position but cant get the first boing yet...lol.
The Shinwoo Phantom is starting to become my favorite over the Velocity now. I am throwing it more. If I need some response then I kick to the Velocity or the Hotshot.

Little Update for todays practice: Throwing the Shinwoo Phantom and YYF Velocity turned all the way out for no response: Doing rough Barrel Rolls as shown by the Yomega Video that came with the Hotshot. Getting the feel for Split Bottom mounts better. Hit two boings on the boing boings. I think I have my hands out of line for the most part. I hit 3 drop in the buckets in a row. I have this continuous motion of brain twister to dismount to swinging forward around my finger back into a bind. Traps are landing more and more. I even tried to do lindy loops and landed a couple. Things are feeling better to me. I seen the Gerbil and I want to get smooth enough for that... got to keep practicing.

Been a while since I have updated. I have gotten the YYF Whip rolling through tricks. The Shinwoos are Shelf Items. I just don't throw them between the Whip and Velocity. No real reason. I have gotten the basics of Skin the Gerbil down now I have to string it all together.
Just ordered my first metal throw. YYF JK should be here next week. I love the Whip but when you get near the end of its spin time it gets pretty unforgiving when flopping the yoyo around. I am hoping the more mass will help out with that. If not then I will still have a metal to throw around.
