I just got a yoyo with a 10 ball bearing in it. When I first spun it with my finger it spun for a long time pretty silently, as expected. Now about a half hour later the bearing is making a much louder noise and only spinning for about 2 seconds when I flick it.
Should I keep playing for this 'break in' period that I hear about, or should I go ahead and clean it.
Thanks

Lube it a little and keep playing it. Make sure to de-shield it before you lube it.

Ok, thank you. I was worried the bearing already got ruined after just a few minutes of play

Ok, thank you. I was worried the bearing already got ruined after just a few minutes of play Don't worry, you didn't ruin it. 10 balls are notoriously hard to break. As long as you clean and lube them every month or so there will be no problems at all. Even if you only clean them twice a year you probably won't have any problems. Just make sure to keep grit, dirt, and dust out of your bearings.
