It is pretty funny when and why some threads are pulled....usually for a pretty lame reason...god forbid we actually have a free flowing conversation...(and I don't mean profanity, that gets pulled for a good reason, I mean the ones pulled for ideas or not being "yo-yo related enough"...though the board is loaded with stuff that say's nyyr all over the place...basicly if it makes the moderator uncomfortable... than see-ya..

It's back now. I didn't realize it was pulled. However, I've noticed previously that threads, and all posts in them, have been entirely removed from existence with no notice or explanation given whatsoever. I don't think this is a good idea. Perhaps modifying/deleting individual posts then PMing the posters would work better. I know it does on the other forums I visit.

Posting here is a privilege and a courtesy, not a right. This is Pat, Weber, Amy, and Tim's house...and their rules. If you don't like it, then don't post. Same as all the other yo-yo boards. S |

I don't think he was asking Steve to post rules. He was just saying, if we are supposed to follow a set of rules, then such a set should be defined. |

It's good form on any board (yoyo-related or not) to expunge spam and clearly offensive posts, but I'm inclined to believe that suddenly and completely eliminating a whole thread that's not breaking any (known) rules is a bit over the top and doesn't really foster a sense of trust in the moderators' judgment. |

I dont know what was even removed please inform me, but i was upset that one of my posts was moved to another board when it was clearly for general talk or better yet OFF TOPIC but we dont have a board for this stuff which is causing a lot of problems. |

Deleting threads is lame...  I don't know if I would continue to even read a bbs/forum that does that stuff. If a thread is out of control lock it. temp ban or warn the user and ask the user edit the bad parts preferably without deleting the context. and FYI when a webmaster starts editing or deleting content it can make the owner of the bbs/forum legally liable in certain situations for anything posted by a user if it is left on the forum... you open yourself up to additional legal obligations when you do this... PLEASE talk to your legal dude before you make this a habit or a policy.... Just my 2 worthless cents. And for the record I love yoyonation and it is currently the ONLY place I by from. |
