Ive run into this I thought about re-blasting or spiral satining my yoyos because it doesnt grind anymore. Well all three times I soaked each half in solvent and it ground like new. Remember the oils on your hands are pretty substantial just ask a annoer or look at an old steering wheel. At least wipe your halves down with spirits on each bearing lube.

This is a good tip. And a total grossout.

It makes sense. If a beadblast on a yoyo appears to disappear, it's much more likely that your skin has rubbed off into the crevices of the blast, as opposed to your hand rubbing off the beadblast. Just imagine....all those dead skin cells.... This is why I wipe down every yoyo I get from the BST with rubbing alcohol.

Always a good idea.  I always get a bit grossed out when I see the same yoyo pop up on different B/S/Ts time and time again.  Just think about all the nasty, sweaty, unwashed skin that has touched that yoyo...

I actually never thought about cleaning my bead blasted yoyos to get a better grinding surface out of them, but it makes perfect sense.  Thanks for the tip!
