Peak seems to be killing bearings
« on: May 17, 2011, 04:13:21 AM »

My peak seems to be killing bearings at the moment, I unscrewed it yesterday to discover a few tiny pieces of metal around in the guts, and the bearings barely span at all, once I took it out, it span fine though, I tried a new bearing, and the same situation has occurred, any advice would be appreciated.

hmm, could be that your bearing seat is messed. Run your fingernail over the lip between the bearing seat and the response, on the inside of the lip. It should feel perfectly smooth.

That's what's weird, it all looks and feels fine, but something is clearly wrong :/ I'm planning to give the guts a good scrub, hopefully that will fix it Smiley
