Well im not gonna win, but its worth a shot.  Grin

Well I started yoyoing for the first time about 3 week ago, when My little bro got yoyo from the local grocery store.  I played with it a little then I decide i was gonna get one so in the day following. I went out got a duncan proyo, and i have been yoyoing every day since. Im doing some  intermediate tricks like brain twister and such now.

Im using a duncan proyo and butterfly right now. but I have a dv888 in the mail so i don't need any yoyos or anything  Smiley

Well my story is actually pretty normal. My friends and I are walking inside Walmart, and what do we find? Duncan butterflies. We all bought one with our money and hurried to our own homes to learn. Well when i got home i ripped the yoyo out of the little package thingy, and put the 100% cotton string on. I saw on the back of the package it tells you how to do a gravity pull and sleeper. So i try the gravity pull, sucessful. I try the sleeper, and for some reason the yoyo just won't stay at the bottom. So I give up, but still put the yoyo in my backpack for school tomorrow. Fast forward to the next day. All my friends for SOME reason got the sleeper when i couldn't. So I go home frustrated and watch the yoyo sleeper video over and over again. I just can't do it! So the next day i but a bumblebee from Duncan for like three bucks. I throw a gentle throw, and like magic, it sleeps. After that i get a mosquito, and the best trick i can do is a sloppy braintwister. Like one twist cuz it can't sleep. Lol i learned eiffel tower, and little kids go crazy for it at school. I think yoyoing is fun, and a break from life's daily stress and school stress or work stress.  Btw, its pretty cool what your doing!

Glad you enjoy it!  And probably the reason your butterfly couldn't spin is the string tension was too tight.

Shaun is a really busy guy.

He owns a restaurant if I remember correctly so he doesn't have a ton of free time to spend on the forums.

Hah, I don't own a restaurant. You might be thinking of Vegabomb. He owns or runs one,I cant remember. I'm sorry I've not been around guys. Work has been kicking my butt. For anyone that's interested, I build circuit boards for traffic and surveillance systems for the new Boeing 787 airplane. Ive been helping design a new surveillance system, so I'm working a LOT of hours. On top of that, I just got engaged, so life is pretty wild right now. I'll get more stuff I the mail soon,  promise!

Hello yoyo nation, i am new to yoyoing as of today.  My cousin has basically taught me everything i know, a bind, rock the cradle, brain twister, trapeese, and i can hit a plastic whip about every other try. My cousin told me about this site too. I am currently using a duncan freehand from my cousin (of course) that my brother and I are sharing.

i am just starting out and i am learning the bind but i tried on my cousins and i am better with metal yo-yo's . i just have a plastic duncan freehand and it can only sleep for like 30 seconds. i think if i stick with it i could get really good at it . my brother is plasticwhip103.

This is really cool of you to do man!

I'm pretty new myself; 2 throws in my possession and practicing every day.

However, I make more than enough money to buy all the yoyos I need.

I hope you get them out to some newer throwers that don't have much cash on hand.

Well, I am partially new, so I wouldn't expect anything, but anywho... I started out about a year ago, a while after seeing Pat Cautero mentioned on the news, when he was advertising yoyonation.  he was doing some looping tricks, and I guess I was entranced by them.  It took me a while to get a yoyo, but my first (and quite impulsive) buy was a Duncan Avenger.  A week after I got the yoyo in the mail, my mom and I went on a 5 day cruise.  It just so happened that the person sitting next to me, about two years younger, at the dining table was also a yoyo addict, though with more experience. He only used Yomegas, and swore bu them, and after dinner, we hung out. He taught me a lot of intermediate tricks (of wich I could do few, thanks to my impulsiveness), such as Mach 5, Dizzy Baby, and others. yAfter the cruise, my mom bought me a plastic grind machine, with stacks, and I started going off from there.  I am now a decent yo-er, and I must thank my mom for supporting my bad habits, and for Christian from the cruise for teaching me so much.

it all began a few months ago,i was at school and these guys not sure who but these guys came to our school with the fast yyf throws i think they were from yyf. They came saying they were trying to break a new world record by doing 10 tricks in a minute. The fast challenge. Anyways they picked 4 people out of the hall and i was one.i went up on stagr and they tried to teach me tricks to compete with the others. Anyways i failed but we were allowed to keep our yoyos, thats when the craze kicked off and i got into yoyoing atm i have a velocity and im saving up for a new throw thats my story. Now i just practise daily.

Well im just getting back into yoyo'ing, and I have been out for a loooooong time to say the very least. I started when i was in third grade (im a junior in college) i think and yoyo'd for about a year i think and earned as much as i could given my resources at the time. Recently i met a coworker who yoyo'd and could do some pretty cool stuff and I have recently decided to get back into it. I'm currently not throwing anything as i have no yoyo, im researching some yoyo's right now and trying to find a good yoyo to start out with but one that i will be able to use as a beginner and continue using as i start to intermediate tricks. I had a tub full of cheap yoyo's from when i was younger that i am going to look for next time im at my parents house so i have something to throw until i decide on a yoyo. Well thats my story up to now. I dont expect to get picked but would appreciate any info and suggestions anyone has.

Hi I'm new to the nation, I joined yesterday. I have no previous experience with yoyo's so am a total beginner waiting for my Henry lizard to turn up in the post. Yoyo it is something I've always wanted to learn and so finally figured I'd get round to it which is why I joined here so I can find out more about and get help with the different types of yoyo and tricks.
