An actual polished 54 of mine, It was red/pewter i can tell you.. its hard to sand a 54... Got nothing to spin it on, More pics soon, camera is charging. But what do you think of another of my Mirrorvando Polishes?  |

Lots of sandpaper, and lots of time, No secret.. A friendly sand paper thread would help you greatly! Although i recommend you use mothers mag polish after the wool!

Haha just finished with the other side.. although theres a little more work to be done. Edit: Here ya go. Ill have even better pics up soon. So yeah... raw 54... ready for custom anodizing.. Or just looking awesome.    |

JUST BE CAREFUL:
Easyoff oven cleaner WITH lye will strip anno. I used to do it to all my HPI R/C car parts (I can't stand purple)
It will get rid of the anno but tarnish the alum. But you were going to polish it anyway, so why does that matter. It may take some extra coaxing to get the bearing seat area cleaned but it will save on sand paper and elbow grease.
you need to be careful because water and lye are not freinds, in fact they hate each other like cats and dogs. So after you take your part out of the container with salad tongs, wipe it down with a paper towel. then you can rinse it off and start the poilish.
leave the parts to be stripped in the container for a day at least but 2 to be sure.
Sorry i was double checking that info. Spray it on and then wwipe it off every 5 - 10 minutes. This stuff can weaken the aluminum and pit it if left on tooo long.
I havenever used this stuff but I have read that this works too greased lighting, household cleaner.

I used to use easy off oven cleaner on my bmx parts. I works great to take ano off. I haven tried it on yoyos though. I wasnt sure if it would mess with the bearing seat.
Have anyone tried it on yoyos?
