So, the response in my y-factor has really died down, but it holds strong to the aluminum. Can I just silicone on top of the old silicone since it's so thin?

im sure the new silicone would adhere to the walls of the recess but im not sure if fresh silicone adheres to dry silicone but it would probably work i mean the worst thing that could happen would be you just have to take out the whole response and the silicone it again

I thought about trying this but I figured if I'm going to wait for the silicone to dry anyway, why not just resilicone the whole thing?

It takes me a good hour to clean the recess nice, and I just hate trying to clean tiny chunks of silicone.
