Specs:

Width - 1.5 in.
Diameter - 1.9 in.
Responce - silicone
Bearing - size A
Weight - TBA
Material - Aluminum (this prototype is not)

NOTE: The wieght rings are in there because the plasitc that the proto is made out of is very light.

Neat. Did you machine it from scratch? Did you use a mill? (I'm wondering where the unique texture came from, and whether the metal version will be similarly done)

This one was printed out on a 3d printer from an epoxy resin. That texture will not be there in the final version because they will be  machined on a lathe.

I've seen one of these machines and they are pretty cool.  They are also called rapid prototyping machines.  They have a platform in them with holes that lowers so the plastic rises through the holes.  As the plastic cools it is machined into the shape using lazer(s).  The one I saw had just finished making a turbocharger prototype.  They can do multiple pieces at a time also.  As for price, I wouldn't even want to know.  I would imagine $50,000-100,000 depending on size.
