The CAD is done and we have already ordered some specialized tooling to get ready to make this. 

For the name we took 6 of the suggestions and you can vote for one of them here.  There were lots of good suggestions but we felt these were the best.

After this we will talk about the finish.

The first decision was on diameter and 56mm was decided:

The 3rd decision needed a re-vote but had lots of good discussion:

The 3rd decision re-vote turned the results around and 64 grams was decided on:

The 4th decision was on the width and 42mm was decided.

The 7th decision is on basic shape.  We had a good discussion and first vote which showed basically a tie between H and V.  There were also some voting cheats so a re-vote will take place:

The 7th decision re-vote resulted in Stepped (H) shape as the overall shape.

Fits the yoyo well, and I would own one just to tell people I have a yoyo called the code 1.

Collective, only because I came up with it  I think CODE 1 is a great name, I really hope it wins.  IMO Zeitgeist just doesn't fit with the names of the other onedrop yoyos.

I really thought by the discussion on the other thread that ZeitGeist would run away with this. CODE 1 seems to be the early favorite though.

CODE 1 is what I voted for, honestly its the only name up there that actually seems like a name a one drop would hold, at least remembering the

project (projection profiles)
M1 (metal for everyone.)
Y factor(using all their knowledge and taking out any unknowns or x factors.)

[PS on another note, even though it seemed like everyone just tossed it aside because it looked like another version of the project, notso, the project 2 is well known for having a solid thunk at the end of the string, but having finally played a yfactor, I can tell you it's a highly underrated yoyo that plays fast!]


Then there's the dingo and the sovereign, I can't exactly remember the origins of those names, but I think the dingo came from a crude napkin sketch...

oh and the markmont.  I don't know why that was named so, either.

Edit: I forgot about the upcoming CLYW/OD collaboration... I think it was being called the Wooly Markmont, And was a combination of the Wooly Marmot and the Markmont.next

Yeah, i was hoping the ZeitGeist would be doing better so far. but, it's early. i think the name might scare away some of the younger voters or people who don't bother to look up the definition. Same with Vox Populi. But, if ZeitGeist doesn't win, i'm totally fine with CODE 1. I can see the appeal of it.

I voted for "Collective"

Just saying, "Oh yeah, I'm playing with the One Drop Collective", sounds terrific.  I think CODE #1 will win, but I'm secretly pulling for "Collective".
