people tend to see the good sides of what they don't have, and once they have it, they realize that things also come with bad sides
people only see free yoyos, travelling etc...
this is soo true!

Thank you
I actually were going to work in something I love doing (music) and when you slowly get there, you realize that a job is and will remain a job, no matter how much you like doing it, there are some downsides, and a job in something you love doing is no free ride. I'm not sure anyone can handle playing at will and being good all the time. Sometimes you'll have to struggle between planes, traffic, hotel, jet lag etc... and I'm not convinced that they make that much to live out of it (but I don't know, really)
On a personal note, I said it before, I say it again, I'd love to be involved somehow, with SPYY, I love everything about this company, the team in itself, the maturity, their throws are my favorites, I'm not even remotely a good player, so I doubt it'll happen anytime soon or ever.
but yea, the more I think about it, the more it's just the right manufacturer/brand for someone like me, personality wise

Sponsorship is an opportunity for people. It isn't anything more than what they then make of the opportunity.

Wanna know some downsides? -Kids who dont stop bothering you asking you for free stuff -Kids who dont stop bothering you asking you to sponsor them
It's important to remember that you're a representative of a company and cant do anything too stupid, and people remember this and try to get all cozy with you.

Well, say for some reason you're in a bad place in your personal life, not bad to the point of somebody dying but more like you're in the middle of breaking up with your girlfriend, you don't really want to but there are some issues that need to be adressed ASAP or you end up on your own. Unfortunately there's a contest coming the next week end, and you're supposed to go there for your sponsor, you come back, she's gone
the point is, doing something that you like doing is nice when you get to choose when and how you want to do it, but when people tell you these things, you might end up in a position where you don't want to do it at this point, but you have to as you're sponsored, you have to be professional and go out there represent the company, so you have to be there with a smile and 100% to the task, you actually have to perform even when your mind's not to it at all. I've been there (not in yoyo) and it can have consequences.
OF course you'll have to stay humble and nice, even if you're not in the mood
people usually don't see the line that is between business and personal life, yoyo in a personal life situation is fun, it's a hobby, but when you actually HAVE TO play and act professional, it's a job, and jobs aren't supposed to be fun (some are, I agree), but nonetheless, they're jobs and there will be things you'll have to do.
So how many people can handle being professional at all times? When you represent a company out there, it's not you talking to the fans, it's the company talking through you and you might want to speak otherwise, but you're not supposed to.
I could be wrong, really, and if I am, please correct me. But representing a company is a responsibility that many people couldn't handle (specially the youngest, less experienced) as it's actually quite hard to separate business and personal life, it's even harder when said business is coming from something from your personal life because you'll have to do compromises on things you usually do 100% your way. It takes a decent amount of self neglect and maturity, as well as -of course- a total trust into your sponsor.
so as I see it, to be sponsored, one would need - skills obviously - talent of course - a fair amount of maturity - to gain the trust of said sponsor
it's not just walking around in a YYF tee shirt and throwing free yoyos
Just like doing a video, if you see YYF videos they are professionally made vids, which means spending some time on a set, repeating scenes over and over if needed, smile even if you don't feel like it, perform even if your head's not to it, because there are $$$ involved in you, doing the job you're asked to do. There can be pressure, to perform, to behave etc...
