YoYo Discussion forum - Suggestions

1.) When giving feedback, I think it needs to be more clear what the character limit is in the short description. Since, unlike signatures, it continues to let you type long past the character limit, people don't know what won't be shown, and so important information is lost. Either clarify that the long description needs to be used, or make it so that you can't keep typing after the character limit is reached.

2.) Make signatures dependent on displayed characters. In the current system, you can't quote more than one post (due to all the URL and info), but people can still use pictures that you need a scroll bar to see. I don't think it's fair that a signature that uses more characters but displays fewer is thrown out in favor of one that uses fewer characters to display more distracting images. If using TinyURL, can you still make it so that clicking the stream of info at the top of a quoted post link to the thread containing that post?

3.) Make it so that there is some label for feedback, as opposed to just clicking numbers. Even just the word "feedback - the number" would work well. When viewing profiles, it's not totally clear that you can click the number of feedback to get to more details. And in forum/PM posts, there is no indication of what that number is for new members.

4.) Stock more varieties of a couple things. I don't have to go elsewhere for anything besides Alchemy string. Even if they have an exclusive contract with Alchemy, you can one-up them with your own exclusive contracts. Stock some G-string, and put the Homebrew string in the store. I've heard you guys still have this "Vorcegy" string mentioned in a long-ago newsletter that you haven't put up. I just wish you guys had more varieties of string. And if I may plug a homebrew company I tried and enjoyed - Toby String, made by "Joker" or something.

Also, T-shirts. I just don't dig the highly stylized stuff that's been coming out lately. Maybe hold a T-shirt design contest with good prizes for some more simple, goofy, fun yo-yoing shirts. See if you can get some Higby-designed stuff.

You've got yo-yos pretty locked down with your occasional exclusives and all the normal releases. I think you've got a pretty great selection of pads as well. Having some counterweight options would be nice, but it's not too big a deal.

5.) I know it's been mentioned before, but pre-made packs with string for beginners. This way, we can just say, "Oh, buy this pack! Pick the colors and everything you need is right there."
