How floaty is the 44? We measured it on a floaty-o-meter and it scored a 44.

One word. Lockups. OMg. I broke mine in pretty well + lube and it does cut corners a little, but it still plays bad even if it's HALF bad.

After looking about, I can't really find a NYYR thread for cubing/cubers that isn't like 4 years old. So who here cubes? What cubes do you like/play? Post your best time/ avg... I'll start: I like pretty much all of my Dayans... Ling yun is my favorite, but I play more aggresively when Im nervous and it pops, so I'd have to play my Lun hui or Zhanchi in competition. I also like my Mem cube and my Haiyan cube and place good times (for me atleast ;p ) with both. 2x2 Single - 6.44 Avg of 5 - 9.34 3x3 Single - 18.01 Avg of 5 - 23.92 4x4 Single - 1:37.77 Avg of 5 - 2:12.28 (wow that's really old, need to update this...) I play larger format cubes too, but my times are increasingly embarassing

I used to have a few speed cubes I ordered from china a few years back, back then my best time ever was about 47 seconds, average was sub 60. I forgot what happened to those speed cubes...think they're in storage. Anyways, I may pick one back up, or dig through storage again for them. All I know is from borrowing a friends is that, I can still do F2L, but everything after that is a blur lol So, moral of the story is, at least solve it once or twice a day, before you forget all of your algorithms.

Neat trivia:
Tom Parks, a Duncan yo-yo demonstrator in the 50s - 80s, was also the editor of "Rubik's Cube Club News" and one of the main organizers of the cubing events that were organized by Ideal Toy Co. at the time.

I like to play with Rubik's Cubes, too. I can consistently solve the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 cubes. I've never timed myself, but I know it takes me a few minutes for each.

sawctopus, if you get interested in speed, cubetimer.com and cubemania.com are great resources.. cubemania stores and charts your times, but you have to create a profile. It is pretty neat to see how fast you progress over time- it's faster than you think. I was never really interested in speed myself, until I got layed up in a hospital with nothing to do.. That'll move you along- specially seeing as you can't really yoyo in a hospital bed..
