NY State Clubs & Meets

Hey Guys!
                 Possible girls too...  If you weren't aware I am an avid goer of the NY Ren Faire. It starts in August and goes through till the end of September (weekends). I want to get a bunch of us together and meet up and show all the jugglers, the minstrels, and troubedors what the oldest toy can do! Ok, nowadays it's a bit more than that... But, it would be awesome to get a meet out there. There were a few throwers out there last year. It would be awesome to get a whole bunch of us out there.Just a little info: the cost of admission is about twenty dollars.... Not too much, but some of the younger croud might be strapped for cash so just letting you know.Also, food is not included in admission price. But a lot of good entertainment is! Lets get this rolling. Shoot out some dates and we'll see what's best.
 Sword fights are cool!

I worked the glass shop there two summers ago. Narrating demonstrations and blowing glass inbetween narrations.
It was too far to drive every weekend and decided not to doit last year. (I live in delaware, 3.5 hours away)

anyway, its a good faire and a fun place to hang out, sounds like a cool idea and I hope it works out!

Hello again,
        The NY Ren Faire is located in Tuxedo NY. It's about 10 minutes off the NY Thruway. Take the exit for rt 17 and then take rt 17a towards Greenwood Lake.  The website is:  www.renfair.com/NY/  it should have all the information you need.

Thanks guys, but unfortunately thats a little too far away for me - I rely heavily on public transport so unless anyone else is planning on making the trip from NYC and has a spare seat I may have to give it a miss. Have fun though!

I am down for it, any weekend is cool for me.  I am coming from Ulster county so if someone needs a ride I might have a seat.  If you are in NYC and can take metro north to Poughkeepsie, it wouldnt be to much trouble to pick you up from there.

They do have a train station in the main part of Tuxedo. I'm sure some arrangements could be made to pick people up. From the station it's only about ten minutes to the faire.

Let's bump this thread. Come on people this could be very cool. Lots to do at the fair make the day of it come early spend a couple hrs checking the place out then take a yoyo break for an hour or two or however long you want then spend the rest of the time at the fair. Bring friends family whatever.  Don't think your making the trip just for an hour or two for yoyoing. There is plenty to do great food drink. Let's give this a shot.

Hey everybody!
                 One weekend away, to the start of the faire. as Red yoyos said, there is so much to do there. Watch jousting tournements, sword fights, singers, jugglers, magicians, bagpipes, blacksmiths, candle makers, glassblowers, tight rope walkers, knife throwers, firebreathers, actors waring funny costumes and speeking in funny accents, pirates, scottsman, royalty!
                 Ok you get the point...  The whole idea of trying to get together at this place was not just to yoyo, but to have an awesome time in a great setting! Next weekend is a little busy for me so, lets shoot for a sunday on the 15th or the 22nd maybe?

Hello again!
       The Faire is open and rolling again. As I hoped my friend Crystal is back and working there again this season. She throws a pretty mean 5a by the way. Red yoyos and I have been talking and by the sounds of it the  22nd may be the day to meet up. Anyone else  interested put up a post. As I said if you need a ride from a train station, it should not be a problem. Give Redyoyos or myself a Personal Message and we will make arrangements. NJTransit runs right through Tuxedo. Thier website has a time schedule. http://www.njtransit.com/  I hope to hear from more of you.

yeah I will def be coming, I got free to go this sunday but the 22nd is just as good to me just let me know when is the best day, and I too can help out with transport if anyone needs help.

This Sunday works. Let's give it a go then for the 15th then. If it does rain I don't mind... While swords rust in the rain, yoyos don't! As a side note, I have a seasons pass so any other day you want to meet up besides is also good.

Whats up I'm about 40 mins north of NYC.  got a small group of us that hang out.  Just met up with a few more today at the Renn Faire in Tuxedo NY.  I gonna try to get another meet set up for all in the area and any that don't mind a drive.  so keep an eye out.
