Just keep playing it in safe places Smiley

I hate forcing a certain area to wear itself down, i prefer to let it happen naturally

Rub it with the back of a rubber belt.

I heard this happened to some puchlines and read that is a way to do it

Back side of a sponge. It's just enough to slightly wear down the finish, not enough to remove colors or designs.

Are you sure it's from the beadblast?  My Adegle Formosa seemed to have a tiny gap between the bearing and the bearing seat, and the string would get caught in there and snap.  Took me exactly five throws, and three string snaps, to figure it out.  Embarrassed  A KK saved the day though, and it hasn't eaten a string since.  It really should have come with one stock.

Eyeball the gap and see if maybe that's the issue.

it has a gap, but it closes once you tighten the yoyo.
