Trouble with Duncan Metal Zero
« on: April 27, 2010, 02:47:52 AM »

The two halves of my Duncan Metal Zero will not screw together.  I
am not sure if it is stripped out or if there is something going on with the axle.  Help!

Well, is it the first or second run of the MFHZ?
If it is the first run then, alot of them had that problem including me.
All I did was email duncan and tell them that the axle stripped and they sent me a new one, but that was only because it was the first run of it.
if it's the second run then IDK  if they would replace it.

P.S. if you do get a replacement keep the counter weights from the original one, I wish I would have, then I would have six instead of three.

Holes / threads are stripped.
Easiest fix for this is to re tap with an 8/32 tap and switch to an 8/32 axle ( bolt cut to fit ).
Taps available at any good hardware store or home center.
Google or re post when you're ready and need a lesson on tapping correctly.

i think your problem is you bought a metal zero lol. i had the same problem. take the stripped half and drill the hole all the way through. find a screw with the same threads and put it through the new hole in the hub to screw the yoyo together. if the screw is too long use an extra duncan spacer outside the yoyo before the screw goes in to the yoyo. this is exaxtly how i fixed my old one and it worked like a charm. you can ask mrneumann5000

I know exactly what I smoke, thank you very much.

Gee I wonder if he'd be having this problem if he had a sili'd MFHZ  idiot2

This is clearly stock if he's having trouble with it.

I was commenting on you and ranen's response towards the MFH..

Send it to me or another modder, and they could retap it and adds stacks or something..
