this looks like a winner to me a hope to see clear versions of this yoyo as well. I hope they pad recess the fhz as well it would make alot more sense.

also will it accept flowable silicone?Huh?

Duncan is only going to move in on real threats like a different company infringing upon their copyright. Brandon Jackson isn't going to appear out of thin air and swat your Aerial mid-trick.

No it wouldn't. most of duncan's yoyos got to people who aren't that into yoyoing and can't play unresponsive. what would make more sense, though, is if they made it somewhat recessed and stacked like 3 silicone stickers (not friction stickers) so if you could tune it into the response setting you like... or at least use silicone stickers on them because i would say most noobs don't know that they need new stickers so they throw the yoyo in a drawer because it won't come back up.

probably not, because Duncan's signature response idea is friction stickers/silicone stickers. Silicone will not last too long in a pad groove, either.

I love duncan, and I have supported them for over 15 years, but I have to say pre-recessing FHZs is a horrible idea, it's gonna severely damage the modding community and FHZ is a beginners yoyo, I have given away plenty of stock zeros and they're great for beginners.

FHZs appeal to only a niche market of the community, people who like them recessed, and beginners, I can count on my hands the number of people I know who throw stock zeros consistently, and here's some food for thought, since Ive been modding FHZs, I've done probably like 100+ dual silicone, other then my personal throws, take a guess how many pad recessed zeros I've done for people, zero.  I love pad recess, but no one wants it, ask any company rep about pad recesses, look at OD, how many of their yoyos lately are pad recess, none.  If you wanna put FHZ in the mix with elite players then you're gonna NEED silicone response.  Otherwise pre recessed or not it's never ever gonna enter in the arena of premier plastics, it's just not gonna happen.  And, this is coming from a person who since the FHZ came out probably has owned 500-1000 FHZs.  If you wanna stay as a beginner/niche yoyo manufacture then by all means go for it, but if you wanna step up and start seeing FHZs in worlds again, you need silicone response.  Any other effort of modernizing the FHZ is futile.

I hope this doesn't come off as an attack on duncan, because I love duncan and brandon to bits tongue

Duncan Sili stickers are pretty damn good, I use my 2010 FH2 with a single one and I get tight binds with no stick, it's great, and I'm going on my second month with mine (Bought the 2010FH2 and the Sili-stickers at Indy states, still using the same sticker after a month and a half, You won't get that longevity with a Friction Sticker.

its not the play im worried about they are a decent response system although they are gnarly responsive at first its more of a durability problem but i havent tried many response types but i really must say that silicone is just tops. it works just as well as stickers for responsive and unresponsive play. and you can play a ridiculously long time before and replacements are needed

At least these don't come with friction stickers.
Including an extra pair of silicone stickers would be nice also.

have you played with the new freehand 2? it comes stock recessed with duncan friction stickers and is tug responsive right out of the box. also because the stickers are recessed their life span is increased considerably. i wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the duncan hardcore line got the same recessed sticker.

i thought by "recessed" you meant it actually had a deep recess; one big enough to put flowable silicone in, not that 1mm tiny recess.
and yes, i have tried the new Freehand 2

I'm sorry Duncan but the name is horrible

Drifter?  No way...  XS zero or something else would be way better than drifter.
