Galactic Goose - Definitive Colorway ID Guide
« on: March 13, 2010, 07:45:59 PM »

I seek help from anyone who knows, for I have read too many conflicting opinions:  Please look at the picture.  Is "A" Rocky Mountain Rust, and is "B" Arctic Bronze?  Or is it the other way around?  Thank you!

Indeed, I did.  I did, indeed,
My daring-do with all due speed.
Without due speed, I dare not do,
What ho, indeed - not one, but two!

A) Bronze
B) Rust

Bronze is a more gold color. Rust is more brown.

This is just going by my own impression. But A looks like rust and B looks like bronze to me. I always did find the naming for Galactic Goose confusing. But rust sounds like it could be orange, and bronze sounds more brown. And I've always preferred the orangey Galactic Goose.

Yep, the reason why I remember it was because I expected it to be the other way around. Tongue

I would expect formation of ferric oxide (iron rust) in the thinly oxygenated atmosphere of the high altitudes atop the Rocky's to occur slowly, in thin patches - which I feel A resembles.

The primary element in bronze is copper, which I feel B resembles.

Thus, if the consensus above is correct, then CLYW's and SPYY's name choices make sense.  Still, I do hope c-foam and/or Steve look at this thread, and give us the authoritative answer.

Respectfully,
Bud

Rust is orange and Bronze is brown.  Done.  You had it right on your first post.
