Good morning yoyo nation...n00b
« on: March 10, 2010, 01:23:52 AM »

Hey there guys and gals.  My name's Dustin.  I've been throwing for a year or so.  Pretty much throw 1A, but i'd like to get into some 4 and 5 eventually.  I started with a duncan mosquito, modded it a little, and it was enough to get me hooked.  I have a legacy that cracked, and i'm waiting on a protostar from YYN that should arrive any day now.  I have lurked for most of the last year and decided that i'd begin posting.

i can do a lot of "advanced" 1A string stuff, a few slacks, and grinds.  Just starting to link tricks and attempt to freestyle.  I don't really intend to compete, but I might try it someday.

I'm OLD...haha, 29 and I don't mind.  I'm going to college (finally) after ten years of traveling to be an english teacher.  I will not correct your grammar and spelling if you don't correct mine....haha

I live in Arkansas.  The land of few yoyo players, but i do know a few kids (teens) that play.  I teach guitar on the side and a few of my students got me hooked on yoyos.  Thx, guys.

Ohhhh....i wish that "walk the dog" had never been invented.  haha.  I'm sure that most of you feel the same way.  It sucks busting out a smooth combo that took weeks to perfect in front of a bunch of people, and all they care about is, "can you walk the dog?"

You must try to fail.

Welcome, Dustin. There's a few other "old" guys around here too... ed, moon, me (I'm 40), and some others. I'm pretty much a beginner, though (only been throwing for a month or so). I think there are fewer yoyoers here in South Carolina than there are in Arkansas. Smiley

Have fun at the nation!

Hey Man, Welcome to the Nation!

If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. I will help the best i can!  Afro

Also, KY has probably the least yoyoers of all states. lol. Including me, there are maybe 3 or 4.

Thanks,
Michael

Hey bro, I'm glad you finally got an account on here, and are still throwing I'll have to swing by the shop some time to see you.
