So, I bought a Black Gold a while back cause I've never thrown something that tried to rip my finger off before.
This thing is 77 grams which is a bit heavy. Pretty cool for a mod though.
The one thing I hated was the side caps. Butt ugly.
I picked up a couple side mirrors from an auto store. After some sanding they fit perfectly.
Cool, I can throw and no one can sneak up behind me.
But the guts are a starburst and an O'ring. I'm not a big fan of either. This is a pretty loud yoyo.
I grinded off the starburst and siliconed the O'ring side. Much better...
So, here's the question part of this pointless thread. I buffed the right side so it would be smooth, but it's kind of ugly. I was thinking about using a fine sand on all of the plastic and hitting it with some gloss black spray paint. Any modders just use spray paint, or would a dye work better?
In any case, for my first mod, it came out pretty good. I also threw a KK in it. It's looks a LOT cooler and it plays smooth with tight binds and no noise. Not too shabby for a 25 dollar yoyo. It's still heavy but it's fun.
