I prefer large because that means bigger gap and less snags. Small bearings have tighter binds and spin longer (I think?), but spin time is kind of irrelevant. I see no advantage in small bearings for me, but some people prefer them.

Well, in my opinion, large bearings tend to spin a little longer than smaller bearings, and also seem a little smoother. However, smaller bearings seem to be a little more stable on the string. Small bearings are also better for 5a and regenerations in my own opinion. I have always been a large bearing guy, but i just got a Wedgie, which uses a small A bearing, and it is quickly converting me to small bearings. Oh yeah, C or other large bearing yoyos usually have larger gaps. I used to think this was due to the bearing itself, but my Wedgie has the same size gap as it's big brother, the Bully. (No pun intended) And the Bully uses a large C bearing. Overall all though, I would say get a C Bearing yoyo if you want unresponsive play. Most small bearing yoyos don't have very big gaps. The Wedgie is just an exception to the rule.

This is like asking if blue or black jeans are better. or if red or green apples are better. or if avatar or alice and wonderland is better. There is no constant advantage for ether. There are "C" bearing with smaller gaps then yoyos with "A" bearing. There are yoyos with "C" bearing that snag more then "A". A lot of people like smaller gaps for 5A because they suck at it.(the binds to be exact) So they tend to be more popular. But if you look around you will see most top 5A players ether did or do play with "C". So really that is out of the window, too. What you need to do is find a yoyo you like with ether size bearing in it and find out why you like them or what you like about each. Spin time has more to do with your throw then the bearing or the yoyo ever will.

Small bearings spin longer due to the string being able to be wrapped around bearing more times. This creates more torque on the yoyo as it unwinds when you throw it, causing a longer spin. This is not an opinion, it is simple physics. (look at what sized bearing is in the Buddha King 2)
Large bearings are obviously larger in terms of diameter, which means less string wraps around the bearing on a throw, but they are also wider in width, meaning they should be able to handle more string layers while doing tricks. (although a quintuple trapeese doesn't slow down my SB Hectic at all.)
I apologize, but there are WAY too many large bearing fan boys these days. I'm not one to complain, but it is affecting the market. There is at least a 10:1 ratio of large to small bearing yoyos being made today. That is a conservative estimate.

To be clear I like Small bearing better. I use my proto mg almost exclusively. How ever I take no sides. "A" does have physics on its side. But there are yoyos with a "C" in them that will spin longer then some yoyos with an "A" in it. Even with its advantage. So you really can't just say "A"'s spin longer. If all other things where equal yes. How ever the world is not like that.
