Duncan Metal Zero Mod
« on: February 22, 2010, 08:19:18 PM »

I have a green metal zero that was way to responsive so got a Freehand Zero and took out the friction stickers that had been wore dawn and put them on my Metal Zero.(For the FHZ i put 1 sticker from the Metal zero and put it in for the other side of the FHZ i just rubbed it until the stickey stuff came off and scrached the sticker from the MZ sticker to get the silicon off it isnt unresponsive but is a little less responsive)Then for the metal zero i put thin lube in the bearing and a angel hair string and now it plays a lot better i can do a finger grind but it wobbles a little on my finger. If you dont like angel hair string just put thinner string or wear down the pads more. I'd say this counts as tuning rather than modding.  Modding is where you actually change the physical dimensions of the yoyo by cutting/adding stuff to it.

That would imply 80% of what is posted in the modding section on this forum does not apply.  I'm not disagreeing with you in any way...just making an observation.
