PSA - Please don't change your thread title after your question is answered
« on: February 25, 2010, 04:17:40 PM »

Hi all YYN users, a friendly public service announcement:

I've noticed that some people have been changing their thread title to something like "." or "Question answered please lock" after asking a question that's been answered.  Please don't do this.  As we all love the search button here and encourage new members to use that button, it loses effectiveness if thread titles get edited.  If someone else comes by with the same question and searches, we want the answer to hit on that search term.  If you feel that the topic has strayed into random off topic discussion either ignore it and let it drop down the board or use the "Report to Moderator" button.  In the future we will be editing changed titles back to their original state in an effort to make this forum a more searchable database of information.

Thanks for your consideration,
Nathan & YYN Moderating Team

Ahh, does this involve changing a thread to a different kind of thread?
That question just sounded redundant.
Okay, here.
So, if my question was just answered, and I have another question, it would be best to make a whole new thread?

Yes it would.

The BST is an exception though.

If the answer to the question leads you onto another related question, though then you can ask it in the same thread.

I would suggest changing the main post of the thread. Otherwise spam and irrelevant posts could be made.
