                                                          Bearingized No-Jive

I Know it's sacrilege to mutilate a no-jive this way, but in my defense this one had the worst case of varnish cracking ever and I had just bought myself a dremel drill press at the time. In hindsight I wish I had sanded it back to clean, oh well you live and learn. Embarrassed
It play's real nice though, in fact better than any of my RD1's.

j/k that is cool... after a fashion. i just want to barf on PRINCIPLE. seriously, i wanted to do that for awhile and just never got around to it. i always thought doc-pop's mo jive was pretty rad. but it's hard to cut into a no jive when i've got a clutch of eric wolff's 10 feet away.

great shot of that clean side, wayne.

i'm no photographer. still though...

Your not alone, I bet everyone who was into yo-yo's back in the day wishes they'd  stocked up on Dr Kuhn's San Fran era yo-yo's. This is coming from a man who said "I'm not to sure about those painted Peak things, I think I'll pass".

ed that's one bad ---- collection you've got going there, nice work fella. Afro

Is that the maroonish purple 2000 Area 51, or is it some pink model?

that's a weird one. the one half is like a grayish area51 logo and the back is like a pinkish-tan sun mandala. no idea how it was done. can't touch the maroon or 'cheese' versions that shawn has posted, but it's kinda cool.

I'll take a look when I get home tonight. I have the maroon and the brown. I assume that the one you have is supposed to be a brown. I don't quite remember what the mandala side color is like.

What's the deal with the Cheese-Jive? That one is new to me.

FBQ'd. Hard.

Ed, I LOVE the finish that's wore into that Flying Camel in the very front. Just comparing it to the one in the back there, the one in the front appears to have comparatively little varnish on it (which I love). Also, Crow's Flying Camel appears to have a good amount of varnish as well. Are all Flying Camel's finished in this way? Is there any different in the finish of the BC-era and San-Fran Camels? Where might one obtain a San-Fran camel, or how might one easily discern the difference?

It looks like the front Camel has been sanded down only where the string touches in "Classic" configuration. Not unusual for a "player".  Afro

You can tell the SF and BC Camels apart rather easily. The words are different on the engraving. The engraving is probably much deeper on the SF-era one also.

Can't remark on the finishes though, as fate has chosen to leave me out of the SF-era Flying Camel club. Angry
