BST out of control!!!!!!!!!!

In the interest of all yoyo'ers, I believe YYN must do something to stem the confusion on it's BST threads.  The BST forum is beyond control.  There should be a separate category for each, Buy, Sell, & Trade.

If you're looking for a certain yoyo, and you want to buy it, post it in the "BUY" section.  Likewise for each circumstance.

How did this happen, anyways?  I feel like a year ago, it wasn't such a cluster **** in the BST.  Nobody is happy with their yoyos anymore?  Or, was it the scalping phase that got people to believe they could make money there?  Any thoughts?

I think the scalping business isn't what it used to be.  There are so many yoyo's out there now that supply is greater than demand.  imho

I think its perfectly fine. It would be a heck of a lot better if people correctly titled the threads though so you know what you are about to look at. And pics MUST be supplied in the OG post.

Voltaire once said, Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.  I think it fits perfectly for our BST, It's not perfect, but it's not bad by any means, considering how highly trafficked it it I think the mods are doing a fine job.  The only thing that needs to be fixed is a standard for thread titles.  I wanna strangle kids that have thread titles like,

" *************************yomegas for sale******************************

That's the only thing that could need fixing, just a plain old thread title like,  onedrop,duncan,CLYW for sale/trade should be the standard.

I'd say rather than limiting what can be posted, identify what cannot be, as  a simple, rigid format really can't work for how the BST is used.

For example, some typical titles would be:

For sale/trade: entire collection

FS/T: YYF, SPYY, Duncan

LF: Pure

and stuff like that really can't be covered unless the format is really well defined and covers all possible intents of a thread.

So we would need to come up with formats for each type of thread:

For sale or trade

For sale

For trade

Looking for/In search of

Want to buy


Before responding and saying that many of these categories could be merged, think about your own experiences in the BST and other threads that you have seen.

Each of these categories can be really different, like "Want to buy" would indicate only the desire to pay monetarily, while "In search of" could indicate the possibility of wanting to buy or trade, or a combination.

I might post again later with what I think might be good guidelines.

I can agree with that.  There are lots of possibilities, but we can at least narrow them down to two.
1.)YoYo's people want
2.)YoYo's people want to get rid of (and there are usually more of these)

That sounds harsh but I really believe that this would be a good rule.  If people only sold 3 at a time they would never get confused with pm's and sending stuff, and if something wasn't selling well, they could exchange it rather than leaving it as clutter, also, that way you should be able to fit 3 names into titles, I can understand that people wouldn't like the rule, but I like it

i still think that the idea i had about each person having 2 threads (one 'want to sell/trade' thread, and one 'want to buy/trade for' thread) is the way to go.  Then the poster could link each thread in the other one.
