YoYo Cases
« on: February 17, 2010, 11:52:59 AM »

Why is the yoyo world almost void of a dependable place to get a yoyo case? The Bandai Hyper Spin Boxes were pretty cool, but the holes are a little big for the modern undersize yoyo. Even the Peak which is considered to be a full size throw, just slides right out of the holes in the lid.

I did some research and found a reputable place to get foam cut presicely enough that I would feel proud to display, instead of those yellowish tomato can cut cases I have seen around. The only issue is that they charge a $100 set up fee per design. I could cover this and get things set up, but is the market in need of yoyo cases?

Would you prefer the case to be aluminum, plastic, wood, fabric?

What would be a fair price for a 12, 24, 48 slot case?

Would the shape of the holes affect your purchase if they held the yoyos tight and secure?

Discuss this if you are interested.

You could get one of the cubed foam setups.

I like hard cases because I feel less worried if they drop, plus they last longer. It really depends if you want to carry your collection with you or use a case for display purposes.

Mighty Ducky is making some really nice cases.  I find that I'm not going to carry yoyos around except for when their in my pocket so all I need is a drawer to hold them.

For me, part of the fun was making the case.

I think a fair price is $1 per yoyo slot and then a small bump depending on the material (metal, fabric, etc.).  I would love a soft case that could hold 20-24 yoyos all on one level (no foam layers).  I wouldn't care what shape the holes are as long as they hold the yoyos well.

I've got my own sort of different style of case....

They never have problems with the yoyo being too small and slipping out.

where did you get that wooden part?

I made it out of a peice of wood cut to the needed size and some dowel rods press fit into 3/8 inch holes drilled into it.
