my first mod of any kind
« on: February 08, 2010, 05:03:16 PM »

ok so this is going to be my first time modding a yoyo, i just purchased a b grade raw 888 but it doesnt have much of a vibe at all hardly any. so i was thinking that because its got somewhat of a matte finish i would try to polish it. but all i have at hand is a dremmel. so i gave it a try.
heres the before

and here is one half after about 30 minutes of "polishing"

ill get a few pics of the finished product. lol remember ive never done this before and just winged it with a dremmel. im not sure how long or what im supposed to do it. but it was generating a buttload of friction the yoyo was getting hot. now i wasnt holding it in one place. i was moving it around constantly. let me know what you guys think. and pointers ideas???

You're young, drunk and have access to power tools?  You should totally build a yoyo.

Try puttting your camera on the Macro setting and then taking pictures that close. They come out clearer. From what I see, it's a wonderful job, but could you try making the pictures clearer?

nice job! how does it play?
it had a slight vibe to begin with and i see where its comming from. while holding the stacks and spinning it slowly the gap gets smaller then wider. the yo it a tad bit lopsided. but not too bad. not enough to notice if you throw it right.   coolsmiley i cant say it plays better now than when i got it because as soon as i got it i started polishing it. but id say its decent im thinking of sending it to vendetta and have him work his magic. i saw a black base with blue and silver/white splashed DNA that i like.
