Reason for pad response: The Collab uses press-fit spacers- and the wall between the spacer & the theoretical silicone groove would only be .030" thick. Well, being that the spacer is press fit in, it's exerting a force AGAINST that wall- & I don't see enough strength in a wall that's .030" thick, and .080" tall- I foresee cracking and failure down the road, if not now. So they take .555 thin pads, stock they are shipping with the gray Gen-Pads. The ring around the bearing is only .020", but it's at a depth of only .030", so failure shouldn't occur- Anyway that's my reason, I'd rather see silicone too, but I hope you can understand!
