I'm getting a pair of sunset NXG's. They will be my first pair of looping yoyos (beyond an imperial about 5 years ago ) and I was wondering if I should just leave em stock, clean them and then thick lube, or clean and thin lube. Help would be usefull as they are coming on friday and I want to be full yprepared, thanks so much!

thin lube or clean the bearing and then silicone them. You would think that would make them less responsive but it actually helps a lot. I used mine stock for a month or so, and I could do two handed loops, but not all that consistently, and I finally siliconed them and BAM, now I can loop just fine.

I find that the more new batches of sunsets (in the new yoyojam boxes) already have cleaned bearings.
Definitely take the time to silicone them. The o-rings tend to sleep at the end of a loop which isn't a problem all the time, but you don't really want it to decide to sleep during a shoot the moon or something and have it come back and hit you because of it.

Yeah except you dont want the silicone flush to the wall of the yoyo. It shouldn't be over flowing because that will be too much response, but just raised a little bit above the groove.

I've never been able to successfully remove the bearing from any of my STs. I've never had a problem removing a bearing from any of my other yo-yos. Is there a special technique I should use, or should I just leave the bearing on and be extra careful?

I just use pliers.

I can't stand my sunsets with sili. You have to replace it far too often. I'd just leave them stock and see how it goes. Personally, I prefer them that way, and I think they perform great.

Hmm, I might try thin lube if I can get the dang bearings out of mine.
