I was sure I did it right

So I got Mineral Spirits today. I put the bearing in a jar, shook it around, spun it, lube it, played with it. I cleaned 6 bearings and everyone is responsive. I've played with one bearing for an hour, it is more responsive to begin with. I duunnnoooo

Maybe try cleaning one of them again, then try playing it dry, if so you probably would have had too much lube in them. also make sure it's 100% mineral spirits, Ie, make sure it's not mineral oil.

How long are you leaving them to dry before lubing?

How much lube are you using?

Leave bearings to dry before you lube them...

Even if I don't lube, it's still responsive. :S

And for how long do I leave them before lubing, about 10 minutes.

Well there's your problem. Soak the bearings for thirty minutes to an hour.

Thats a long time, but if they're really cruded up they will need it

I asked this in an other thread but you missed it...
Have you been leaving your yoyos on top of stereo speakers or on a TV?

are you using a plastic container like tupperware....
the tupperware will melt from the mineral spirits and get in the yoyo bearing
life lesson: dont clean yoyo bearings in tupperware

have u deshielded it and all? there could be string fuzz inside the races of the bearing causeing a them to not spin freely?
