Have you guys heard of the nice restaurant called "Lee Kan's Asian Grill", I've heard that it was one of the best oriental restaurants. Excellent Sushi, maybe we could meet up one day, I am only 13 though, and do you guys know where a yoyo shop may be in Memphis? Please Reply

Zero good yo-yo shops. The best we have is a Toys R' Us out in Cordova (20 minutes from me).

Tennessee Clubs, Contests, & Meets
« Reply #15 on: August 06, 2010, 02:06:50 PM »

Hey guys,

Several friends and I plan on going to the event, and I was wondering if anyone else is attending. I'd love to meet some fellow yoyonationers at the competition just to hang out and talk about stuff!

So here's the rule: State whether you are going, and what you are looking forward to the most about attending the event.

Of course, I am going, and since this will be my first yoyo gathering, I am looking forward to the whole thing!

For those that are wondering, TN states will be September 11th at the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. It's being run by Mark Allen.

Your mind will be sufficiently blow. I know mine was the first time I saw some other yo-yoers. I hope to see all of these people again, and meet some new ones as well.

Also, really looking forward to throwing wood with Ed.

Hi guys. I am running the contest this year. I know it may seem like the scene in TN has been quiet, but we have been putting lots of things together behind the scenes. Including a new website devoted entirely to the nashville yo-yo scene and the TN state contest. We are gathering sponsors for the event also. We will unveil the contest website very soon. I have just received word that we will have some special edition duncan yo-yos available for the contest.

We are having a meet today(8/7/2010) at centenial park in Nashville. The meet will start at 11 at the front steps of the Parthenon and then probably migrate to some indoor place due to the excessive heat we've had lately.

if you guys are not on the list and want to be put on the email list for club meets please email info@yoyonashville.com
Call me at 615.351.7618 if you come and we are not there.

Awesome, Mark! Thanks for putting it all together. I can't wait for it.

Any news on what companies will have tables yet? I might be interested in buying a new throw there if any appeal to me.

Also: About the Nashville Yoyo Club: I think that's rad that you are organizing this, as I would love to be a part of it, but unfortunately, I live in Memphis. I suppose we could throw together a little yoyo club, but the Memphis scene consists of me, Douglas Brown, and two other dudes. So it would be more like us hanging out and possibly yoyoing.  Grin

Maybe I can post a last call for Memphian - area yoyoers to see if any would be interested in something similar to your club.

Regardless, can't wait for TN States!
