Back in August Vendetta started selling off most of his yoyos to raise money for a secret project. He decided he wanted to learn to anodize yoyos, so he bought all the necessary equipment and set up shop in his garage and kitchen. In the first week of September he was ready to go. Starting with scrap pieces of metal, he quickly moved onto defective M1 and P2 halves that OneDrop was kind enough to provide him. Within two weeks Vendetta had solids, splashes, drizzles and stripes (yes, stripes) down. Then came something I've not seen before... a unique kind of wash that reminds me of sponge painted walls. In the last week of September Vendetta moved on to anodizing 5 "real" yoyos. It's been just a month. This two page photo album details his progression for the month of September in chronological order: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vendetta7/sets/72157622344334610/And this album shows the 5 yoyos he's completed thus far: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vendetta7/sets/72157622350537515/This Skyy Chaser isn't mine... I wish it was. It belongs to RIDE. I created this image to summarize my feelings about it: Here's the others: - Ben P.S.

Ven doesn't have blasting equipment (yet), so currently everything blasted he's done has been blasted elsewhere. He'll get there. In order to be a full service shop you need the following skills: 1) Anodizing 2) Blasting 3) Striping (of existing finishes) Ven can put a big fat check mark next to #1. #2 requires a bunch of money. #3 involves nasty chemicals so proper ventilation and safety precautions are needed and that may be something the neighbors don't want you doing out of your garage. Right now Ven has a fairly limited selection of colors. I think for the time being the smart thing to do is invest in more colors, perfect existing techniques and create some new techniques. Outsourcing of the blasting is a necessary evil at this point in time. - Ben

One of a kind is not all that matters. I can draw a picture of a dog chasing a rat who is pissing on a cat... sure its one of a kind but no one will want it.

2) Blasting...requires a bunch of money.
An air compressor, a blast box, and media - what's so expensive?
