Anatomy of a yoyo
« on: January 14, 2007, 04:04:01 PM »

Here it is: My contribution to the nation!

Bearing: What you put the string on to make the yoyo sleep.
Bearing seat: Holds the bearing in place.
Axle: Holds the haves together.
Hub: Inceases the Depth to axle goes in making it more stable ald less likely to come apart.
Nipple: A spike on the end of the hub that lets you pinch the yoyo there and to a "matador" ( not all yoyos have this).
Response System: Caches the string making the yoyo come up.
Recess: A goove in the yoyo where the responce system fits in, The deeper the groove the lower the responce (most yoyos have this).
Inner rim grind lip (IRGL): Allows you the cache the yoyo on the inside usually with your thumb or thumb nail (most metal yoyos have this).
Rim: The outer most edge of the yoyo where most of the weight is.

Yeah that'll be a good idea to expand it a bit. I think it might be sticky worthy if you explain each part of the yoyo that you are pointing out also and give some more in depth info.

it looks pretty good..as an artist myself though,  i would like to point out the lack of semetry between top and bottom halves, perhaps a version where you duplicate the top half ( the more accurate half) and reverse it ...it might look a bit better ( please don't take this as an insult..just contsructive criticism..and suggestions..looks great though Afro)

No offense taken, I did copy the one half using a semetry tool, Its just the angel I rendered it at making the hub look longer, It makes the nipple easier to see

dang!  nice diagram! did you make the images?
Thanks  Smiley , I made the yoyo in a 3d modeling program, and I'll update the bearing.
