THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A REVIEW, MODS, SO PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS THREAD. alright, so since there seems to be a dearth of information about this yo-yo, and since i received one in a trade last thursday, i figured i'd take some pictures of it for people like me who were (or are) dying to know what it's like, what it looks like, etc. the delrin rims snap in place. they fit snug, and you don't even need to use the white rubber o-rings that fit in the groove along the rims. on my split decision, the black offstring rims fit more snug than the white 1a rims, but there are always the o-rings if you need them. as seen in jeffrey pang's video in the b.e.e.f. thread, this has two response grooves. the inner groove is fitted with a white pad that sits flush with the yo-yo half. i'm told that the outer groove also comes with a pad that is slightly recessed into the body of the yo-yo. the split decision i received is fitted with ghost rings in these outer grooves, which stick out and make the yo-yo more responsive. so i'm anxious to try the recessed pads - not too much of a fan of the ghost rings. having broken this yo-yo in, i just think (aside from the grippy ghost rings) this thing rocks. the design for the removable donuts is solid, and i think once this thing comes out, if parts are kept in stock, this will be a great yo-yo to just play and play. it feels tough and if you mess up the rims, just get another pair. werrd is the bomb. w/ white delrin 1a rims: w/ black delrin 4a rims: disassembled: the guts: the guts in close-up:

Any comments on that blasting/surface? I'd like to know what it is and how it feels.

the close-ups make it look a bit more speckly than it really appears...it looks to be beadblasted (i could totally be wrong, though...it's so smoothly done, but it doesn't seem as light as my p2, which of course is soda blasted, so don't quote me on this). finger grinds forever. the irg is thin, as you can see from the pictures. thumb grinds amazingly.

Is there a benefit to the double response rings? It seems really cool, but I don't really get why you'd need two.

My guess is that since it has 4a rims, that the extra response is needed for binds. Perhaps you can take out one of the responses (if it's too much) and the empty recess would act almost as a schmoove ring, while the other ring provides enough response. I could be completely wrong about this though.

from what i understand, that outer ring will also be fitted with a pad that's slightly recessed. i've taken the ghost rings out and tried to play it with that outer groove as a schmoove ring, but i think the groove is too deep. it gets snaggy.
also, it's cool they movied my thread. totally cool. tsk.

this is what i've been told, too, but i believe when it comes it, the setup will be different than the one i've got. the aforementioned recessed pad in the second groove, i believe, is allegedly supposed to aid suicides. indeed. but i guess until i can get hold of a couple to put in, i won't know!

If you're on top of your string tension, you don't need any help with suicides.
I can do a quad lindy loops suicide now, and I just got the hang of the regular single one like a week ago. I can dig the 4A idea, but having an empty slot for response and not using it at all seems sorta silly. I'd just want to immediately silicone both of them >:

yep yep, I can vouch for Frunk's info. All seems correct here. Nice thread. Great Photos. I may post them up on our blog if you dont mind. A few options for the outer response(I haven't tried these options yet): you can try to shave the ghost ring there, Silicone maybe, a yyj oring, stack 2 k-pads.

Love mine!
Response is great... And Beef rims fit on it!
Hope I can find some delrin rings soon...
Do they come off easily during offstring drops?
