PGM stacked review.

The plastic Grind Machine from YoYoFactory is the only plastic yoyo to feature the YYF hubstack design. This is also (imo) the smoothest plastic yoyo for the price ($30.00) Smiley

In my opinion the GM is great for advanced to expert play. The yoyo has long stable spin times and a wide gap for good tricks. Not as wide as the 888 just a little smaller. The yoyo is unresponsive to you need to be able to bind. The yoyo is, of course, designed for good grinding. The stacked version (imo) is better for grinding than the non-stacked. the non-stacked version is just to smooth and slippery to grind with. However, the stacked version has a perferated edges so its smooth, but still has a grip to it. so you have for control with your grinds.
this yoyo is great for any player who has completed tricks like brain twiser and boing boing.

id rate this yoyo about... 8/10.

The yoyo doesn't make the player; the player makes the yoyo.

Good for grinding?

Palm grind? hm... odd stupid texture on the yoyo, really grabby, XXXXXX
Thumb grind? Well... there's a huge piece of plastic in the way not to mention the weight rings and the hubstacks, XXXXXX
Arm grind? Same as the palm grind, XXXXXX

The yoyo was named after metal yoyos of the same name and was released as a plastic as a spiritual successor, not as a yoyo meant for grinding. If you want a yoyo that grinds well, get a spyyder, pyro, Freerider or any bead blasted yoyo like a Peak. If you want to grind plastic, satin it on a drill.

yes, bt you'll note how i said IMO. I've never owned a all metal yoyo before so i'm just saying that in my book its good for grinding. as far as thumb grinding goes, yes there is a huge peice of plastic there. however, the non stacked version is much more open and i have doen thumb grinds with it. palm grinding? well i can grind the GM on my hand pop it off my hand and go into trapeze. so you can plam grind with it. probably not as good as a metal yoyo, but its possible.
