Making the "popular" people mods will just make yyn even more boring,
some of the guys who used to make yyn a fun read and brought lols and funny things to threads will stop posting
(thinking "i can't post that/say that, i'm a mod" etc)

It happened with mags, it happened with Bemis

I can see it happening again already...

i'll have to up the snark to compensate then.

"xctmiz" is YYN's tim, right? He's never even made a post.

I thought Tim left about a year ago...

Sorry but a 17 year old mod? Some of the new choices are great but in my opinion this forum is getting pretty weak. I am seeing threads locked because of members expressing thier opinion.
I think mods should be above that.
more like the forum is being policed, in to me I do not feel a public forum needs that. Moderated yes but policed no. In my life I have always been against the grain, and seems to me that this forum is headed down a direction that Does not appeal to me.

Quick question for the mods. I see that posts asking if there are any yoiyoers in the OP's area are being moved to the Contests/Events section. Why is that? They people are only trying to find out who is near them, there is no talk of contests or events. Seems like that needs clarification.

For example

That is where I've traditionally seen the threads and that is where I see other mods move them. You're right, though, it does seem a little off. I'll look into it.

Maybe there needs to be a sub forum called "Meeting Other Yoyoers in your area" or something like that. Either that or come up with a system where you put in your zip code and it spits out people near you and a link to PM them.

I always assumed posts asking about meets and callouts for local players should go in the contests/events section because of the sub title of that section

“Talk about any contests, events, or upcoming yoyo meets in EVERY area!”

You want to make things interesting? Make me a mod.

Sure, people will complain that I'm not impartial. But they'll roll with laughter when I edit their posts to read things like "I heard that Augie Fash's superpowers enable him to blend in with machinery" instead of whatever troll-bait they had actually posted themselves.

Also: I can spell.
