Forging on in the face of the 30 day warning because I think this post should possibly be stickied. For those of us north of the border, Canadian Tire has a good variety of the Permatex silicone. Also, Permatex now makes Ultra Blue which seems to work just fine as well. The colour is a little nicer than the ugly rust colour of the Ultra Copper. Edit: Pictures added of finished product Flowable on a Lyn Fury Ultra Blue on a Hitman (looks more matte in person) Blend of Ultra Blue & Flowable on a SB Hectic (the wet look is true to life)

I like Loctite products more than Permatex. I do a lot of work on my car and my friend's are into cars, and the Loctite products are just better made.
Luke Vader uses the Loctite Red RTV for all of his awesome silicone jobs and it lasts for SUPER LONG.
I picked up a tube of Loctite Blue RTV and in reality it really is much closer to clear blue than solid blue compared to the Permatex Blue RTV. So my choices are Loctite Red RTV and Permatex Blue RTV, they both give that solid looking color and are super durable.

This tread needs to be stuck. I have learned so much and now I know the I am useing the wrong sili. The sili I have been using is almost like hot glue from a glue gun. It is next to impossble to get smooth.

Just to answer a few questions that may or may not have been answered earlier: The red sili is not the same as sILLYcone. They use something special that apparently comes in giant batches and they won't exactly release it to the public. I don't get it, but if that's what they want to do, so be it. Personally I think they could make a mint selling that stuff. You can pour any of the silicone into the groove, you'll have to do some clean up afterwards regardless. Flowable just fills in a little easier, bubbles don't form as easily but it is not as long-lasting as the other types. I like gray for some reason. It seems to last the longest and perform most consistently. That and it comes in a cool power can. I vastly prefer the permatex power can to any others available though. You really can't go wrong with any of them, they cost 5-10 dollars and the worst that can happen is you have extra silicone. Any further questions I will gladly answer

Heheh, I was too lazy to look through all 7 pages of the post... Quick Question: Do you have any detail on Permatex Flowable Silicone in here?

The clear stuff?
I have not tried it but I believe it shouldn't be very different from the brand that YYN offers. Most clear flowable silicone settles very easily but does not last as long as the solid stuff.

couple questions....what would you say is the minimum depth a recess can be for silicone to work properly? Alsoi just recently got some stuff but didnt want to use it in case it didnt last or wasnt best for my money. What would be recommeded for tight binds, lasts and doesnt snag?

I'm at work so I'm just relating it in my head, but I'd say at least as deep as two quarters stacked are thick. As far as the rest of your questions, they are answered in the thread, maybe even up to 5 posts up

Depends... We'd have to see what kind it is, if you can find it online. Generally the stuff I've posted is your best bet - it's cheap, readily available, and works very well. You might as well go out and get some unless you want to make a big mess with the glass sealant

The bad thing is sometime it's too sticky inside the grooves, sometimes it can be easily pulled out (same silicone, same yoyo). I wonder why *mods: cough*sticky*cough

I have been using DAP clear glass sealer since I've been yoyoing. I almost bought some Black RTV but was wary as I had never seen it used by anyone else before. I figured there was good reason for that. I have never seen RTV in a store until last night in Walmart. I also finally found some Loctite.
