I wasn't strictly speaking about this very one, or about this type of painted peak for that matter. Just peaks in general. I deem to remember one went for over $500 on ebay.
Probably the Iron Man Peak. The custom ones went for a lot
Nintendo Peak?

Put this up 5 months ago, and it would have gone in like 20 mins for $400+. These yoyos started the "OMG it's caribou lodgeeeeeeeee!" hype, and as far as i'm concerned, there's no smoke without fire.
Sweet yoyo man, and if you're only here to try and put the value down, don't. Just, don't.
Not quite true. There was a MINT numbered painted Levi 1st run put up in December with the seller asking exactly what he gave for it, $350. It went unsold for a month. Right before Christmas he offered a one day sale price of $300. Didn't sell. 5 months later he still has it and is holding firm at $350. Still not sold. - Ben I wasn't strictly speaking about this very one, or about this type of painted peak for that matter. Just peaks in general. I deem to remember one went for over $500 on ebay. Ok. I understand now. You are right. There was a time an place where original painted sold for $400+. That has been declining for a least 6 months now. Like I pointed out, a mint numbered didn't sell for $300 back in December. That may have been a fluke though because people didn't have money around Christmas. I do a lot of buying so I keep track of the market. Currently I think the market value of a MINT numbered Peak is $300, and the value of a banged up numbered like in this thread is $250. As he is looking for a $120 new ano Peak, a $100 BvM and an $120 Superstar, if all three were in non-mint condition, that would be about the $250 I think this is worth. There other Peaks holding their value. All the custom Levi painteds are holding there value, and quite frankly the original buyers paid so much and are so attached to them, they will probably never trade hands again. Jawbreaker 1 & 2 sold for $300 each. Nintendo was $600. Iron Man was around $500. Most of the Peaks here: http://picasaweb.google.com/benjustinbaker/Peaks# never hit Ebay as they were commissioned, probably for $200 - $300. Their owners will never sell them. The Peak you saw on Ebay recently for $500 was 1 of the 2 TE Peaks (Chris has the other). That is still worth that. Actually I'm considering buying it for $500 as it needs to be in my collection. Chris' is far more banged up as he 5A'ed it, but I might get his just because it's his. I still need a painted numbered Peak, but want mint. Might throw down the $350 for one mint I've managed to track down with an owner who just might sell. I've got a few spaces open for TE Peak, original painted, the 2nd run raw I'm currently wet sanding, and my incoming Levi custom Transformers Peak: - Ben

I find that cursing out people on online yoyo message boards really makes the situation better. Really constructive thread you've got going here.

I'm sorry I don't know the exact count. It's between 30 and 40.

Michael, I'm sorry your post got so severly hi-jacked. I guess if there was a more clear description for the history of the Peak then this prob wouldn't have happened. The Peak was our first yoyo and it was the yoyo we learned everything with.
Here's the work that went into those 1st 50:
16 hours prep/paint 8 hours siliconing 4 hours assembling (had to match halves) 3 hours packaging
+ the time it took Paul to make the custom string + the endless amount of time online we spent keeping everyone updated with our progress + the fun we had with starting a yoyo company
This was the 1st yoyo Caribou Lodge released. It was made in 2006 and is still the preferred yoyo Alex Berenguel is using for contests.

Baaaaaaaack on topic... Right now Colby has the best offer of a Sebby Peak, one of a kind painted Project, All gold Busine$$, and a 401K.
If you feel like you can beat that, now is the time!
