bummer, it doesnt seem to work on a Windows ME 633mhz compy, maybe I abused it too much  uglystupid2
it plays fine for the first 10 seconds, then WMP gets all screwy and I have to do CPR to the compy (Ctrl+Alt+Delete)

try media player classic, it isnt a resource hog like WMP, and when the time comes to format dont install ME again, install xp or 98

Keep in mind, as i realised talking to Yaniv at SRC, that that trick doesn't only work from the Mount Tanaka does and Shawn shows, any mount that goes to Wrist Mount will work, just do the necessary transition, and grap the string. Lots of fun to be had.

I'm DLing this right now, but I might have to start over tomorrow. I've avoided this thread because as a newbie, "Wrist Mount" sounded like it was probably beyond my current level.

However, it sounds like it's got some basics in it as well.

Is this stuff beyond the scope of a guy who's most difficult trick is probably a 2or0 or a little better?

Thanks,
Jason

The wrist mount in itself is a slightly more complex mount than 2/0. But, it is one of the next steps. Basically, this vid is perfect for you. You can learn from start to finish as you improve with the video.

Well, I downloaded it - but it doesn't work. The error number I get is 8971.

I have a few other mp4 files that play fine in Quicktime.

I downloaded and installed the CCCP, using the default settings for everything, and it still doesn't work. I didn't install a player from the CCCP though - just the codecs.

I'm using a fairly new/fast machine running XP Home Edition

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

Try opening it with windows media player ... the CCCP codec enables that.

Media player classic plays better, but it still stutters alot, so I'll use the text version. Thanks for the help tho Smiley

Wow.. lots of activity in here! Sorry I hadn't checked this thread in a while..

Anyway, I just added XviD and MPEG-1 versions of it tonight, so that should help those that were still having problems. I think 633mhz was probably too slow for the original vid no matter what player was used.. The XviD should play for almost anyone (if you have DivX installed, that'll play this too, CCCP will work also, etc). I also linked directly to the files on the home page now, so it should be easier to find the links. Hope this helps!

I'm most glad that some beginners are getting use out of this. That was one of my main reasons for making this is I think people get scared off from Wrist Mount because the usual combos are too hard...

Thanks Shawn, this video is really, really great! The only think i miss, is some fine music to go with it, something easyflowing would be nice.
Don't get me wrong I f... love the video, but I'm into heavy music, so when I watch the video I put on Slipknot or Trivium or Meshuggah, and then I get  tickedoff when I can not perform what I see on the screen.

Yeah... music would be cool. What happened was I wanted the video to be totally legit (for the archive.org hosting and also just because) and so I didn't want to stick music I didn't have the rights to on it. I could probably have found some Creative Commons or public domain music to stick on, but I was starting to burn out on it at that point I think.. Wink

One interesting thing is I've heard people playing their own music over it, so that is cool. Maybe it isn't a bug but a feature? Wink  I like some heavy music too... been listening to some bands like Opeth, Sirenia, Origin lately. I used part of One from Metallica for a freestyle once and an Atari Teenage Riot song another time. But I have really eclectic taste in general..
