This trick is taunting me.
Everything goes well untill the boing part. I'v watched several diffrent version of it. But when i do it, it just tangels up or I just get out of sync.
Any tips?

Hello there!

Hey I was the same way---until Yoji gave me a pointer!
The trick seems to make sure you have a tight enough loop to contain the yoyo, then you swing it back & forth till it rocks a little...the start making the up & down motion your hands to give it the true boing!
but yeah - i still had to practice it over and over...only get it about 20% of the time now...which is better than 0!
*can someone move this to 'tricks' forum* again - my internet is wack here - doesn't hold sessions in this forum

Yes this trick still haunts me, but one day I eventually go it, partially. Just keep practicing.

Ok, Boingy-Boing is one of the few tricks I can do pretty reliably. It bugged the heck out of me until I got it. Here's what worked for me:
1. Chances are you're moving your top hand forward and back. Don't. That's easier said than done, as I'm learning with looping right now. In Boingy-Boing, I was able to stop the forward/back motion by pinning my elbow to my side, so that there was nowhere to go but up or down.
2. The other thing is to get the rhythm/feel of the boing. Until you know what it's supposed to feel like, you won't know whether you're doing it right. I mastered that by practicing over/under boings, surprisingly enough. Something about letting the yoyo roll back (closer to you) and under made it click for me. (Letting it go under on the back side is easier, since it won't bind on you.)
3. I also had more luck when I was starting by going into it in reverse (i.e., not through a split-bottom mount, but instead by starting like I was trying a backspin bind and then separating the string). Maybe it was mental, but it worked better for me.
4. I also had a little luck taking it through a barrel roll or 2 first, to shorten the string before starting the boings.
Let me know if these work for you.

What i end up doing is just a boing (half a boing-e-boing)
i must not be moving my hand down when the yo goes away from me to give it some slack...but I don't know how to not do this. It must be the rhythm thing. I'll try the barrel roll and over under thing.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but just to solidify it ..... you 'pinch' the strings with your throwhand (at the top) and leave your non-throwhand loose (at the bottom), correct?
I've nailed the trick a few times now, but with many many failed attempts in-between. I'm trying to pinpoint the part I'm being inconsistent with.

pinching the string isn't going to help much but curling your finger somwhat seems necessary to keep the string on your finger. no need to pinch it. what the worst that can happen? you boing then the string falls off your finger, then you hit the mount and try again.

I actually had more trouble when I was trying to pinch the string. Just my 2 cents. Tony

I've teached boingy boingy to several friends lately. What they did wrong was to use the strengh of their shoulder. Don't know if it's your case. If it is, you have to soften and not move your shoulder. Your elbow of your throw hand must remain against your waist. Then move your hand up and down by moving your forearm.
