Ok, I pretty much ahve the mach 5 throw down...

my question is - how come it always dies on my before I do a third 'circle'?

How do I keep on spinning - my technique may be wrong...  Sad

wow you're getting better Smiley

don't pull so tight when doing the mach 5

find the "sweet spot" where the string is taut, but you're not pulling so tight that the yoyo can't move freely on the bearing....

oh, and make sure your hands are moving the strings on the same exact "plane of motion"

(remember geometry?)

Make sure when you spin your hands that they are spinning true and straight to the  gap. A slight off-axis spin will kill the sleep pretty quick.

i agree with pat. it sounds like you're pulling it too tight. you don't have to crank on it. just enough pressure to keep it in the mount during the rotations.
