SPYY Pistolero
« on: January 17, 2009, 03:26:27 PM »

I decided to take a little bit of a different approach while reviewing the Pistolero. Instead of the usual textual review, I took nine photos that show you different perspectives on the yoyo, reviewing it along the way. Enjoy!

That was a really good idea for a review
and it was a good review

But how does it grind?

Its ok. The laser engravings sort reveal a raw surface, so they're not totally super. Matador and thumb grinds are great though.

What's the gap width like on this yoyo? It looks hawt but all the SPYY yo's I've tried have had a tiny little gap and it just doesn't work for me.

Cool review, cool yoyo. Is there a way to see the notes when you're playing the slideshow? Thanks!

A one minute search yileded this:

Pistolero:
Weight: 64 grams (without tether)
Dimensions: 52mm (diameter) x 42mm (width)
Gap Width: 3.8mm

Spyder
Weight:  64.20 grams
Width (mm)   41.50
Diameter (mm)   49.53
Gap Width (mm)   3.31

The one Addict I looked up was aroun 3.24 in width.

I have both the Pistolero and a STAR (Spyder) and they are two different beasts.  I enjoy them both quite a bit.

This is the production run.  Will I make more?  Probably not for a while...

The Pistolero has been SPYY’s most involved and largest investment to date… A yoyo with a $125 selling price written all over it. I’ve decided to uphold my standards and maintain SPYY’s commitment to precision and exceptional value, so the Beta Release will be sold direct to customers at a reduced price. I give my apologies to stores that have shown interest in this yoyo - I promise that the next run will be nothing less than a retail success!

Yeah, I love this yoyo.  It's very smooth.  Steve must have some really high standards to say these were beta runs.  Very little vib.  I would have payed $125 for it.  Awesome deal.  A must if you have $78 laying around.

Popdada, I believe Bigo6o was commenting on the fact that you used the possessive "their" instead of the contraction "they're", not the fact that you were stating false claims Smiley.
