But... it's rather preferences we should argue about, and by all means tell me what you don't like. It just means we get even better next time.

There's only one thing that i can think of that isn't really a preference thing (to some extent)

One of the only things that puts me off the cut slightly, is the non grind friendly finish.
But i don't mean grinding in the traditional sense.

The ones i have tried have been very nice, smooth, fast and nimble.
But the raw finish is very sticky, and if the yoyo accidentally caches my finger, or scrape the back of my hand during tricks it almost stops dead.
(Bead Blasted yoyos tend to just shrug it off and keep on spinning)

People say grinding doesn't matter in a yoyo because they don't grind much (nether do I)
But when it comes to a yoyo that is BB'd or not, i think most players would choose the BB'd for this reason

I'd love to see a BB'd CUT Smiley

I'd love to see a BB'd CUT Smiley

I'd think that, perhaps, a beadblast would make the cut look not as sharp. But the fact that the primary release is raw means those of us with super-tarnish acid sweat can't get one. Sad

But regarding the cut, I really like the idea of HSpin putting out a smaller, larger-gapped, 63-64 gram yoyo. Although I love my Envy64 and Pyro, they just don't get enough play because they're kinda big for my small hands, I like bigger gaps, and the Pyro is just too heavy to play for very long.

HSpin may not have as many rabid fanboys, but that may be a good thing.

Every company uses advertising, and every company has a couple of fans (well they must have, for them to still be afloat.)

I really don't believe that in every case what the majority likes is what is going to be best for you. A yo-yo companies greatness, in my opinion, should not merely be measured by how many fans it has.
When I began yo-yoing, I was told that this new frankenstine/ sorry excuse for a yo-yo called the Pyro would be a better waste than if you simply lit the $89.99 on fire. Of course this may have been true for some, I'd even go as far as to say most people that I knew but it certainly was not true for me. (the Pyro is my all time favorite, and practically all that I've thrown...ever)

I think anyone who has payed a little attention to Hspins journey over the past few years would be completely sane to call what they do 'weird', but I'm also not so sure that weird is a negative thing seeing as
   weird tends to mean uncanny
uncanny is a good match to unusual
and unusual and out-of-the-ordinary, suggests revolutionary.

Hspin tries to bring something new to the table every time that they produce. They cater to the likings of yo-yoers who demand to see something other than the same yo-yo idea get passed around and tweaked a little by each major manufacturer. They understand that their customers deserve more than that.
Hspin doesn't produce to make fans, they produce to push the boundaries of what has only ever been thought of and then they appreciatively and humbly accept whatever 'fans' may result from that.

Not to mention Hspin listens. They take into consideration every compliment and complaint sent their way from everyone. In fact, one of the core focuses of the Hspin Network is to reach out to those of you in the community who have an opinion to give, or a suggestion to make pertaining to anything Hspin-related.

I am indeed a devout Hspin fan, and In the case of this fangirl I'd have to say that perhaps the reason that Hspin fans aren't as vocal as other fans is because we're much too busy working towards making the future better rather than raving about what small successes we might have made today.

...That's a joke of course. Who knows, maybe we're just a quieter bunch of people.  Grin

Either way, everyone has their own reasons for liking a certain company.

Maybe Hspin hasn't come out with anything mind blowing for a little while (except the cut). Anyway their yoyos are being sold so I don't get the problem.

A few comments.

I'm not particularly fond of Hspin's work because it is too out of the box for me.  However, The CUT that I own is easily one of my favorite players.  I typically don't say that one yoyo is my favorite, because I really enjoy a lot of my high ends.  But, there are days that I call this my #1.  The CUT is a crazy awesome player, and I applaud Hspin for putting out such a quality piece.

With regard to the finish.  This thing is awesome looking.  I particularly enjoy beadblasted yoyos, but am not sure this needs a beadblast.  If you have an issue with the yoyo dying from touching your hand during a trick, just don't let it hit your hand.  I mean, I'm no pro by any means, and I can't snap start a yoyo  Afro, but I have never had an issue with this thing dying during a trick.  Also, since it is raw, buy it and send it to gruntbull and pick whatever ano job you want.  You would then have  custom ano'd and beadblasted CUT.  Sounds like a win win to me.

Nice job with this one Chris!
