My first FHZ recess job
« on: June 02, 2009, 09:25:39 AM »

Hey guys..I got this FHZ last week from YYN and it is my play yoyo. Im documenting my mods to it. I havent decided if i will be painting it for dying i yet..but im leaning towards painting. Anyway...i wanted to post some pics so i can get some feedback. I think it looks very clean. I originally intended to do both sides sili recessed but ended up dong one kentaro pad and one side sili as this seems to be the best feel after trying both ways. So, tell me, how did i do? I will update after the painting is done..but itll be a while since im broke.

This is just to show how clean it is from the top...no sili sticking up

Here is a view of both halves:

Another side shot:

Showing pads n sili:

And here is a close up of the K pad recess:

interesting. Did you cut it for that sticker? Or did you cut it and then decide what sticker to put on there? Cut looks good though.

I actually cut it for silicone on both sides...But after the flowable dried it was waaay too responsive so i stipped out the silicone and realized a kentaro would fit in and it was nice and deep. The other side was just a hair too wide to fit a k pad so i sili'd it but did it as shallow as possible. I'm playing with it today and its DEAD. Play is amazing..Im really impressed by the FHZ now...and i know what people mean when they say you can turn a 20 dollar throw in to one that performs like a much priceir one. Oh  yeah, and i used a drill press for the whole thing, not just a drill and screwdriver like the mod videos show. It worked great. I have video of the process that im going to edit down and post soon.

Silicone will be responsive at first. It has a break in period. But some people like silicone/pad response.
