Lots of people were dissing this yoyo at worlds, I think part of the reason people don't like it is because they got the first run of proto's which had a weird response system that didn't work. Binds were awful and sometimes impossible not to mention you could not get the string wrapped tight enough for a good "pull start" or throw. But the next day they put together more with what I think were yoyoguy's orange o-rings (I went to yoyoguy and bought these for mine the first day) The ones with these played WAY better. Keep in mind these are prototypes, they are not sold as final products and as many prototypes there are some issues that I'm sure will be dealt with so don't jump to the conclusion that his yo-yo sucks especially if you have not tried one yet. I have one and I really like. Props to YoYoJam for being innovative.

I got the second run, and it still sucked pretty bad.. i think that the idea is awesome, and it will remain a novelty yoyo. The physics behind it are impossible. The friction caused by the side bearings is uneven, so when the rims start to spin with the yoyo, they do so unevenly, causing a VERY VERY nasty wobble for 3ish seconds before it smooths out. This occurs on every throw. If you can wait 3 seconds after every throw, before you start your trick, then have fun! . This is besides the fact that it doesn't spin very long, because the rim weight, doesn't give the yoyo any inertia at all. Overall, the synergy is a great yoyo to play with, for fun. It's cool to mess around with new concepts/ideas. 4A with this thing is great, because when you drop the yoyo, it doesn't shoot off in any direction, it just chills on the ground saying "keep playing with me" Although i don't reccommend them for 4A use. The bearings certainly can't take the impact of being dropped/etc that many times. werrd.

I can get plenty of sleep time to do most tricks as long as i get a good pull start. The physics arent impossible, if hubstacks are possible these are possible, they just need some fine tuning thats why they are called prototypes.

First of all to address the inability of people to throw this yo-yo. You can't play with this like you would a normal yo-yo. Because the rims have weight and there is no way to make a spinning ring weigh nothing if you use a normal throw and grab the rims you lose a lot of momentum there. The correct way to start this yo-yo is therefore through a pull start. You will notice you can get four times the spin using this method. We are making some subtle changes to the yo-yo before release - as some people mentioned the response needs to be slightly better. But overall this yo-yo (if we even want to call it a yo-yo) is the next step towards something different. What that is we just are not sure yet. But as mentioned playing with it is weird to say the least. You have to re-learn what you already know about a yo-yo. The rules are different here. More info coming soon at YoYoJam.com -André

i had an idea...
couldnt you just take a yo-yo like the x-covict with extended weight rings, then put the bearings over the weight rings, giving it an h- shape?
it would kind of be the "backup" rim weight to the side bearings.

this yoyo is amasing but the only thing i have a problem with it is that when u first start out throwing it u cant hold the yoyo in ur hand its like impossible to then u have to quick satrt it which is also hard becuz u hold the rims to quick starts the yoyo and those rims spin so it wuld make the process of quick starting it much harder
