OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL: The Freehand thread.
« on: July 12, 2008, 04:15:33 PM »

Welcome to the Freehand thread!

I thought it'd be cool if we made a thread purely for the Duncan Freehand, the Ones, Twos and Zeros, in particular, our personal favourites.

The rule is: you can only post if your reply contains a picture you haven't previously posted in the thread of your FH. Hopefully the mods can enforce this. Smiley

If there's a story behind the yo, post it! I'll go first.

I got it in a trade from Ed (Kinopah), I asked him for a Zero, but let him choose which one. I love it, it's been everywhere that I've been since I got it. I baby it a bit, it's still dingless, but it stays in my pocket nonetheless, and it always makes me happy when I throw it.

Keep this thread alive!

Remember: no replies without a new picture!! Smiley

Not my pic, but I do have this edition. Mine is schmooved/siliconed. The groove is a bit too shallow though, so silicone flies out after a half an hour of hard play. I'll have to buy another of the same edition. I love this colorway.

Nuggles, is yours modded in any way?

Besides the ladies love it because it shoots sparks and refers to their genitalia.

Pure SECKS ^

Black Hyper FH from Steve Brown.

Recessed by my good friend AndoCommando (For free, I STILL OWE HIM)

Save Deth Decals to add some class to an already classy yoyo.

1 Kentaro in the sticker recess.

PURE LOVE.

I love FH's more than 99% of EVERYONE.

This is obviously going to be a picture heavy thread, so we might as well go full monty and post HUGE pictures.

Hmmm..toughie.

My favorite right now is probably my Vader'd 07 Worlds ed. freehand.

Crazy sparkle on that thing, and custom painted caps from Luke!

Honorable mentions: Blue sparkle FHV donated by RSJ, TYC FHV donated by Mike, created by Mr. Vader, My first ever FHV; red, and my trusty stock Duncan equals love that I won at the MEC stupd trick contest. (Which is also my "ladies" yoyo.)

Haha, sorry I took up so much room.

My favorite so far in this thread is that Save Deth freehand. Yum!

Moddy buddies, could you remove LMcanPlay's post? LM, if you've got a FHZ, take a snap before you post!

The weather here's horribly murky (so bad that I needed a flash), so the shot wasn't much before the editing.

Brandon, got a favourite? Or one with more history than the others?

Alex, it's got a nice recess full of silly, Smiley. I'll do a guts shot soon. I've a Takeshi in green on the way too, so there'll be another few pics when it arrives, Smiley

Sorry about that...
Here are my two favorites. The white zero is a Takeshi Recessed zero that Takeshi gave me for helping out with Indy States 07. And Jack gave me the  crew zero for...being awesome?

Being gifts from two of my favorite homies...these two are my faves.

I like the Sukeban Deka yoyo best, its got flush Element X rings and dual silicone recess both by Takeshi. Second runner up is the pink Freehand, its got a single side wide silicone recess also by Takeshi. They all rock though!

The Asian FHZ

i ordered this a while ago, it took a few months to come, but it was sooooo worth the wait. It has asian dudes painted on the yoyo and not the normal people that higby paints

dual siliconed by takeshi, plays like a beast.

Metäl. AC + Luke Vader. Iridescent.

TheOldestCraze, it took me a while to understand what you meant, but that is REALLY cool. Good work on painting the actual structures of the nitrogenous bases, I would have been lazy and just painted the typical little tags with letters on them. My guess is that you're happy about finishing the complimentary strand.

EDIT: and come to think of it, with only one side the best you can say is that it's viral Tongue

These are Takeshi's Heavy Triplets that he made for me.

From Left to right.
Dual Siliconed Black FHZ with Custom made weight rings, additional rubber rings, Taka's Titanium axles @ 98grams. (It was 100 grams even but I changed the axle to the titanium ones that were 2 grams lighter)

Recessed FH1 with NM Rings, additional weights under the caps, running on a flat Ceramic bearing and Black Kentaro Pads @ 100grams. This is the first real heavy yo-yo I received from Takeshi in 2004 and I have been using this ever since. You can see me using this in videos and photos. It has never left my side since '04. Nicknamed Big Blue.

Recessed FH2 with metal rings(Can somebody tell what they are?), additional rubber rings under the caps, gold bearings and black kentaro pads @ 90grams(I think) I love the shape! Hella Wide!

Photos of the FH2...
