the spyder is a class a, certified bad arse yo yo.  you may just need to woodshed on it some more...

Im sorry if I will be coming off the wrong way, but....

Why get a Spyder as your first yoyo other than a crap yo?  Angry

It makes no sense to me why a beginner would get one. I dont care if your rich, get yoyos to suit your experience. And getting Gstring because your string rips? On tricks you will be doing you should be using cheap cotton for god's sake, you dont need string bent on slacks, you need string bent on learning, and a yoyo to match.

*sigh*

Sorry, I had to say that. It just doesn't make sense.

The yoyo community nowadays.

rich? RICH!!!

Dude im 15 with a casual job working 2 days a week on 8 au dollars an hour, im in a single mother family getting close to zilch from my ------- father and my mums on about 35000 a year, shes 37, were still renting and theres 3 of us[chillun]

you think im rich, you think im some rich arrogant spoilt brat who gets whatever he wants? I got this yoyo because it had good reviews i know not much about yos,,, please don't say arrogant comments like that when all you know is that i bought a yoyo which you think i don't deserve.

your dead right your coming off the wrong way mate, and im sorry if im not good enough for a perticular yo yo..... Undecided
Then maybe getting an expensive yoyo wasn't a good idea. I'M just going by the stereotype *cough* yopimp *cough* that rick kids get metals as there first real yoyos. And I wasn't being arrogant, I was being realistic.

yeah, no kidding.  the yo-yo community is ridiculous these days.  kids telling other kids they're not worthy of buying whatever yo-yo they want.  newbs being told they have to use inferior string, just because they're new and that's how you did it.  there is no difference in skill level between playing with spyder and a siliconed fhz or something like that.  last time i checked both yo-yos could preform rock the baby and breath equally well (some pro's would probably prefer to throw the fhz).  the only difference is price and material.  i think you're just jealous and your passing the blame off on yopimp after you got called out for being a jerk.  get off the kids back and help him learn to yo-yo better instead of telling him he's inexperienced.  sounds to me like YOU'RE the one who's INEXPERIENCED AT REALITY.

in my opinion your opinion doesn't make any sense.

can i buy someone's oxy4?  i wanna load it with thick lube and make a video doing brain twisters and ufo's.  i think Colin would enjoy it.

me being a bully?  i was being super helpful in this thread until you started telling him that even if he's rich he's not good enough to buy a spyder and g-string.  i was defending the guy and you were going on about this spoiled rich kid stereotype which obviously isn't the case.  i may have been a little harsh, but i stand by my opinion and felt i needed to say something to let this guy know he's not in the wrong here.

good on you for apologizing though.  i'm not trying to be a big jerk.  if i think someone's statement is out of line though, i say something about it.  i've said this before in the past.

Really, I would say go lyn fury. I like it more than all the metal rimmed yoyojams, except maybe the vict.

Lyns take abuse like an old car. Ive beat the heck out of mine and it still rolls true, unresponsive, and it spins great with a worn in bearing. Smiley

I agree. I haven't tried a vict yet,but will be getting one VERY soon.  I love the shape of the lyn,and the weight is just right in my opinion.

I have had a few victs, and they are nice, but the lyn is a BEAST. I gave up throwing my spyder for the feel of my lyn and my 1st run black milk. They are just totally different feels though. I know about feels seeing as to how I have owned at least 50 different metals alone, and feel is what you should search for in your yoyos,

on the one hand, i was told i got my tank waay too soon and that i should get a raider. i think that if you want to learn tricks, its much easier on a dead unresponsive yoyo thats way above your level. dif-pads actually teach you to bind the yoyo tightly YOURSELF.  also, once you learn the basics on an unresponsive yoyo you can move to a more responsive yoyo to polish out the sloppiness.  on the other hand, i think i would be a very good idea if you (poster) went out and got a duncan imperial. if you can make tthat yoyo sleep for more than 5 seconds, you win at life  rockon

No offense to Colin or anything, but seriously, EVERYONE here doesn't need a metal. We can do everything on a YYJ. It's his money, he can buy what ever they want.

Like for an Ipod, I'm pretty sure most of you have one here, you don't NEED one, you just want one. A normal crappy 30 dollar MP3 does the same thing, might not have a color screen, but your listening to music, not looking at a screen. Everything that we buy applys here. I'm sure most of you have good computers am I correct? But like more then 70% on YYN only go on the internet, maybe download music/movies and type something out for Homework or something like that. And a computer that does all that is Windows 98. It can go on the internet, you can type out stuff and that's pretty much all you do. I am one of these people myself, ( I just play games on top of that lol ) but to be honest, I don't need my "high end" computer, I could get one for half the price and it could do play every game that I can play right now... just on a lower res... but it still works. Just like right now people are starting to save up for a Catch 22, do you guys think you need it or do you only want it?

Well you can buy as much yoyos as you want. If a new guy can't buy one metal, then why should we have 10 or more of them? They all do the same thing right? they might have different shapes and all but to the basic-ness << not a word Tongue of a yoyo, it does the same thing.

Plus he can stuff lube in the bearing so that he can start off with a responsive yoyo. Same thing as a YYJ. Just more money involved.  BUT he likes the spyder and that's all that matters, if HE likes he and has enough money, why do we have to tell him he can't have it, HE saved up money to buy one, not us. Only when he asks what he should get should we tell him to get something that we think will suit him/her.
