sadly, not for retail (though feel free to petition away), but i did want to share a pic or two of the final product.
oak halves, take-apart with dimple response & replaceable axles (currently using hemlock).
it plays like it looks.

Dimple?? Interesting. I really doubt that thing plays well at all.. You should really send one my way to prove me wrong. Such a beauty! Congrats.

They are nice, good spin times, stock seems kinda low at the store right now though.

On a different topic, does anyone know about when John McAvoy folded his tent at Doblé?  I tried going to the website awhile back and got the "URL-for-sale" schtick, now it's just not found.  tongue

If I could do that on my E1NS my life would be complete. Much less on a fixed-axle wooden yoyo. Major props as always.

On a totally different note, since we all know we can't have one, how does that SPYY woodie play/feel/rockyourfaceoff? Curious minds would really like to know! Cheesy

it's weird. i love it, and on its own merits, it's a really great yo-yo, but i think i'm kind of biased/blinded by the fact that i know it's all i've got for the year. so even if i didn't like it, i'd kind of... have to?
the shape is pretty classic. same width as a no jive and about a mm taller in diam. the corners are less rounded so there's more rim weight, which you can feel. the wood is tough, and only has a few dings after being banged around quite a bit. the oak itself is a little slicker than maple, so i'm augmenting the dimple response with a long-dead duncan friction sticker, which gives me more juice on loop-outs/shoot-the-moon. gap is fine, spin is fine. so far if i can do it on a no jive or irving, i can do it on this (i.e. spirit bomb, kamikaze, weird lacerations, etc.). steve is sending me some shorter axle rods, because after sanding down some of the hemlock sleeves to tighten the gap, i know i'm close to popping out of the outer wall, which would be bad.

I know this is a little old (2009) but I came across this website looking for ideas on wooden yoyos. I think it belongs in this thread.

Does anyone have info on this Rollerwoody? Wondering more about the finish. The previous owner claims it was never played (looks it too). Also shows a bit of corrosion on the bearing seat from sitting.

Hey guys I'm looking to just get started collecting some wood yoyos but I'm overwhelmed at the amount of yoyos that are out there. What do you guys think would be good to start a collection without spending too much cash? I also want them to be throwable

My advice as a relatively new wood collector... Don't collect Tom Kuhns if you're concerned about cash.  Tongue  (I'm learning this the hard way)

I had one that I tried to remove the varnish from and that's what mine looked like after the first application of the varnish stripper.
